Blowing Fan Fuse, Overheating

My car is overheating due to the cooling fans blowing a fuse, any suggestions what I can do other than taking it in for service? It seems somewhat difficult to inspect them myself because of the air filter location. My RX-8 has been nothing but trouble since day 1.

It's not uncommon when changing the air filter, to push the grommets for the airbox down through the holes in the airbox tray, where they fall into the cooling fans and jam them. You can take the air box out, and the tray under it, then look at the fans and make sure they are spinning freely. If there is nothing obstructing them, chances are the motor on the fan is just burnt out and shorting.

Happened on my 07, but I didn't jam the fans thank god. I ended up taking the grommets that hold the engine cover in place and putting them down there. They're much stiffer and don't fall through.

I willing to bet that is exactly what happened. For the time being I will just remove the relay for fan 2 (the one with a bad motor) and hopefully running 1 fan will keep the radiator cool enough. 100 bucks just for a fan motor is too much for such a stupid problem.
