Long time lurker, first time poster...
I've added lots of after market parts, but this is my first truely original mod.

The goal - to get more bass into the car - - - - -

Speaker cloth held on to the inside with double sided tape. This is temporary as the next phase is a custom build sub box with the port directly attached here. More on this later.

The angle of the pictures lets you see a little bit of the double sided tape on the top side, but it's not really noticeable by just looking at it. This will go away with the custom ported box anyway. If I don't end up porting the box directly to it, I will trade the tape out for some hot glue or something.

The one thing I would do differently is start a little lower. I made the first center mark where I wanted the bottom of the rotor to be and I cut the hole small purposely so that I didn't over cut. Not very far into making it bigger I realized that it was going to be much easier to keep making the top gradually higher than to try to make the sides wider AND stay centered. So all in all, its a little higher than I planned, but it still looks good and direct port or not, there should still be much more bass blasted up front!

is it just the angle of the shots, or is it slightly crooked?

ever so slightly. the angle of the shots kind of enhances it. it sure is tough to get a triangle perfectly centered and straight on a curved surface :-)

the pic of the inside with the tabs bent over looks really crooked, but thats more from the tabs being a little longer on that side. didnt really cut them to any measurement.

neato... very subtle but with purpose. If I planned on keeping mine forever and I had subs I'd do it. Bravo! :D
