Seti001 03-02-2008, 01:29 AM Hey i'm still really new to the car situation so i was wondering you ya'll could help me out :) the bose sound system is nice in my 8....but i want more of a bump to it if you know what i mean..so what do you guys and possibly gals suggest i do to help solve that problem...
Alterego667 03-02-2008, 02:06 AM Put a nice box in the trunk... There is one on ebay that is a perfect fit... Get some JL Audio 10 inch speakers...
Mod out the middle of the backseats to fit the amp... Hide all the wires and just keep the stock deck and and that....\\Simple and it is way loud for me....
I cut the cover cubby whole thing so it is a cover... Put the box in and mounted it on the back of the seats to the metal....
Clean... and loud...
DeViLbOi 03-02-2008, 06:50 PM I was looking for a little more and just added an iPod and used the EQ in the iPod to fix the sound.
DreRX8 03-02-2008, 07:55 PM Bose always lacks in the 'bang' department. I had Bose in my FD and my two Millenia Ss - I always had to add a sub to get that extra kick. I purposely avoided Bose with the RX8 so I could have full control over my sound - because all you can add to Bose is a sub - anything else (different speakers etc. everything has to be gutted and rewired.
firebirdude 03-02-2008, 08:25 PM Read the FAQ thread sticky.
A regular line output converter of the rear speakers. Boom.
boffam 03-02-2008, 09:55 PM Another good option if you don't need outrageous thump and want to minimize how much space you consume is the Infinity Basslink. An additional plus is that you don't need a LOC as it has speaker-level inputs.

(Oil bottle to tweak my buddies who always make fun of the 8's oil consumption)
And the remote level box can be disassembles and mounted in a trick way in one of the blanks:

rhadad 03-11-2008, 01:42 AM The bose sound system is really cool for us, we have used it for a few years, but these days, it can't work, it's time to upgrade a new one, my friend recommends Logitech to us, I found this Logitech Z-5500 seems look fine, and have some good reviews

416to212 03-11-2008, 10:48 AM I recently bought a Bazooka self amplified tube sub woofer - BTA10100. Ol'skool tech but it's easy to install and remove when I need more trunk space. I'll be posting a complete how-to because info regarding this kinda install is all over the place and new coming may appreciate some clearer resources.
felk420 03-11-2008, 02:27 PM this is another option....u dont need to do an ything to crazy....
rXter 03-15-2008, 01:06 PM Go with the Basslink. I've had it since Feb 05 and it is great.
pyran 03-18-2008, 01:17 PM what would you guys think about putting in a 10" or 12" Rockford Fosgate Punch Stage 3 Shallow sub in a custom box to fit that little dip in the trunk so it becomes level with the rest of the trunk? has anyone done that yet and have any pictures?
good/bad idea?
DeViLbOi 03-18-2008, 04:17 PM asked and answered already...bad. You will never get a speaker that is shallow enough that you can properly cover to keep things from falling on the cone.
