Sooo....like other folks I have had consistent 4th gear problems with my 05. I have posted about it already....(4th gear grinds at high rpms - over 8k....19k miles on the car now.)
Well I took it in to the dealer and had them "shuttle" me to work. Took all day but they finally called me back. The service manager had been o nthe phone with the Mazda people and they told him to check a bunch of shit. Well...they told me that the transmission had some "crap" oil in it. I quote" Some thin stuff...looked like someone used synthetic in it."
I just bought the car from a dealer in DE...so I didnt see where this was an issue really. They drained the oil and put "Mazda spec" tranny fluid in...
WELL....long story short...the gears feel tighter. I dont know how to explain this but...when the synthetic was in the car...the gears moved around easier..but felt more "loose" and fluid. The new oil makes the gears a little "tighter" "stiff". I dont mind it....but the gear STILL grinds.
I called them back and he told me that the plan was...if it didnt work...then I drive it around for a while to let the new oil get (my translation) all up ins.
500 miles to be exact. When I bring it back and its still fucked up they are going to replace the tranny. Sigh...
