Ya - did try searching for any posts on the "SMART-KEY" but I didn't find any answers. The Mazda dealership wants $180 to re-program the remote part of the key-fob (which is a thin card) that I bought on ebay for around $70 and the new blank key that I bought from Mazda for $60. They quoted me $550 for the whole thing with programming if I bought it direct from Mazda. That is SO crazy to me! $550 for a KEY?????????? I know that the dealership has to program the key itself, but is there a way I can program the remote part (the rest of the card)? Please HELP!!!!!!!!! klksmile 09-18-2007, 08:21 PM new key card or key fob? Apparently the card part is like the remote control and the key part is what actually you need to start the car. You don't need the key to be in the ignition - but just in the area of the car. |
