My dealership includes free scheduled maintenance on all Mazdas - they call it the freedom driving club. Normally, one would expect this "freebie" would reduce the buyer's negotiating power - but with the 8, I had no negotiating power to speak of, so it was really "free". They cover everything (wiper blades, brake pads, all fluids except windshield cleaner and gas, etc.)
Now that Mazda Canada is offering free sched maintenance due to the hp snafu, I'm in a pickle. 2 parties are offering me the same free perk. I presume that Mazda Canada will now be picking up the tab for that part of my Freedom Driving Club that is covered by their recent offer.
I think I already know how far I'll get negotiating with Mazda Canada - any ideas on how I can recoup some of the value from the previously offered dealership free maintenance? I was thinking something along the lines of getting free accessories ... any other brilliant strategies?
