View Full Version : Bridge Port ??? RX84ME 03-02-2002, 05:02 AM with the ports being moved what kinda moster porting do you think you can do on these and with 10K RPM a bridge or PP would pull major power!!! Johnny 03-02-2002, 04:51 PM I wouldn't go further than a heavy street or very small street bridge port, unless you're planning on making a dragster out of the Rx-8. A PP, J-bridge and D-bridge will kill engine life drastically. You should do some research on rotary porting before considering one. RX84ME 03-03-2002, 08:15 AM im only looking for 20k or so rebuild about 1 time a year. I was asking about this cause I have not seen the inside of the new motor if even a BP or PP, JP is posiable. Im planning on gutting the enter car get the weight down to about 2400 2500. Johnny 03-03-2002, 01:18 PM No heavy bridge port such as JB DB or PP will last 20k miles, heavy bridges like that you have to rebuild the engine after a couple of races. RX84ME 03-04-2002, 12:03 AM Thats strange I have a FC with BP 6mm that has almost 25K on it. Im planning on tearing it down and freshining it up in April Johnny 03-04-2002, 01:23 PM Well you can street bridge if thats what your talking about, a street bridge will last a long time, but JB, DB or PP are for serious racing purpose and you will have to rebuild after each run. Your FC probably has a very small bridge like my 84' which is fine for a daily driven car. RX84ME 03-04-2002, 08:52 PM standard bride is 8mm long my is 6mm long not much low end but from 4500 - 8000 you better hold on to something. |
