View Full Version : Attention: Starting up new 8 club in N. AL
rddragoness 01-19-2007, 09:15 PM Hey 8 lovers.
Wanted to let you know that another 8 owner and I are looking into starting up a local 8 club for the Huntsville AL, and surrounding areas.
As of now we are thinking about "Tennessee Valley RX8 Club or Tennessee Valley Regional RX8 Club, both to include our neighbors from surrounding counties and southern TN. We need support staff, ideas, and members. My buddy has talked to the GM of Jeff Sikes Mazda in H'ville, and he is throwing his support behind us, as he has so wonderfully done the Rocket City Miata club. We are looking for this to be a non profit charitable organization, designed to help us all become better acquainted with our vehicles, as well as host fun events, and possible get big enough to sponsor events such as the BOTD, and DGRR. Anyone interested send a shout out, and if you are willing to help organise and be apart of it PM me.
BlueflameFE 01-21-2007, 01:08 PM Hi,
I'm definitiely interested. I'll help with the organization too if needed. I have a 04 8 that I bought new here in Huntsville. It's Titanium with blue flames on the side, AT/Grand Touring. I would help any way I can. Call me, Dan Fox 457-6941, or email dfox@hiwaay.net.
rddragoness 01-21-2007, 08:30 PM Hi Dan, Nice to meet you.I'm Laura. Welcome to the forum.
I have been kind ofwaiting for the weather to clear to get to the courthouse and get the neccessary paperwork to apply for the non-profit organization title. This is just in the beginning stages, but we hope to get it up and running soon.
I have an 06 MT Copper Red Shinka. I will keep an eye out for your car, and give you toot if I see you. I live in South Huntsville so I don't get up your way much, but I'll definitely keep my eyes open!
I'll let my buddy know that we have yet another interested owner, and I know of about 5-6 others that will want to come aboard I'm sure once they catch this thread.
I'd leave my email, but I'm swapping companies as of Tuesday, so its not really going to do you any good, and I'll PM you with my number. We both actually use the same Cell company!..
Look for updates here....or through your email.
Laura
BlueflameFE 01-22-2007, 08:34 AM I noticed the Harley riders meet at Hooters on Sunday afternoons. Maybe we can get together for a meet and greet at a restaurant and see who wants to be involved in a club?

om-nc 01-23-2007, 12:18 PM May have to stop by if my other car passes tech inspection. Laura, here is a couple of pics of my new toy to go along with my 8.
I am hoping to bed the new brakes at the old airport Saturday and would need to eat lunch as well. Might just work out.

speedweasel 01-24-2007, 08:24 PM Good News!!!!
So far we have about 12 cars and about 20 people coming to the kickoff meeting.
Also, we will have the presidents of both the Rocket City Miata and Rocket City Mustang clubs coming too. They will provide some stories for fellow car enthusiasts just getting started.
rddragoness 01-25-2007, 12:05 PM Hey guys! Club Dues of $15-$20 will be collected Saturday ok, so Don't forget to stop by an ATM and grab some cash, and bring smaller bills ok. We arent sure if it will be $15-$20 just yet, and Im not a bank ...hehehe It's only once a year, and we'll need a little cash to get the ball rolling with forms to be filed at the courthouse, and all that jazz. Also remember to bring your ideas for fund raisers too, so we can have events to keep us going.

Herblenny 02-02-2007, 07:57 AM Is this just for 8s only?
rddragoness 02-02-2007, 10:06 AM Herbenny, I'd have to talk to the President, but I think that this is basically for 8's only.
