Trying to figure out the route I'm taking. Anyone driven the Carson City-Vegas stretch, are there any concerns along this stretch I might want to be aware of? Gas stations, cell reception, etc.

 

I've driven that road at least 100 times...........Good road. Some trucks but they move along at or near the speed limit. Except for towns the speed limit should be 75 and if you do 80 you should be OK. There are a few spots where the cell reception is kinda spotty but mostly have good reception.

 

Phil and 13X what do you suggest for those of us with mica paint who need a rinse-off after the drive up through the desert. If there's a touch-free that's reasonable in your neck of the woods - woot woot

If you need the rinse off, come to my suite if it's just your car then there is one of those quarter you wash type car washes at the corner of Spring Mountain and Jones. The only other car wash that I am aware of in the area is a Terrible Hurbst wash at the corner of Sahara and Valley View.

 

10 days, I'll be wheels up and jetting my way to LV. It's my first visit to Nevada btw. I think I've been to every state around it.
