Well Chinatown is always a fun day. Tell the vendors "Pay Cash" and you can haggle.
Take the 8 down to lombard street, nice twisty road, but lots of pedestrians so you cant really go to fast.
ffishermans warf for a bowl of chowder in a sourghdough bowl.
Take a cruise on beach blvd.
Were are you staying and I could throw some more stuff out there.

Also alcatraz is something to check out.
If a short drive is not a problem to the south you have Carmel/Monterey, santa cruz. Maybe a NAPA tour to the east a couple of hours. Plenty of bus trips that do this so you dont have to worry about drinking and driving.

I love driving over Golden Gate Bridge.
Even toll cost $5, I still go around over it sometimes.

Almost forget.
There is San Francisco 49 Mile Scenic Drive, which will take you to all places, including famous land marks, that you should visit in a day.
Route is a good guide for planing, so you don't have to drive around in circle.
