i was wondering if anyone had their transmission replaced under warranty and which dealer done the work. Iam wanting to know because 1. Iam having problems with my transmission 2. the dealer I usually go to want to charge me 1300 when it is covered and 3. I just don't know what to do. If someone is able to help me with this problem I would appriciate it. Thanks

i havent had my tranny replaced but the hayward mazda is usually pretty good with the warranty work. Today i just got my left taillight replaced because water was leaking in, my cd player because it was skipping like nuts and my defroster buttons because they were cracking all under warranty.

i am having my tranny replaced under warranty and at menlo mazda. they are also helping install my aftermarket flywheel for $120 labor fee. they test drove my car and found out that it was notchy and grinds second gear at high rpm. i think you should give menlo mazda a try cause they have really good customer service and they also get their work done.

yea you should take advantage of the cheap installation. but first they will test drive your car and while they are driving it you better hope it grinds lol! cause i brought it back 3 times with the same problem and the gears didnt grind on the first 2 times, so they couldnt find out what was wrong with it. but on the third time the guy really stomped on my car and found out that my second and fourth grinds at high rpm so they finally believed me.

I'm in socal but I just had my tranny replaced under warranty last month. Wouldn't shift into 6th at all. Here's my thread; plenty of write-up and pics: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-trouble-shooting-95/no-6th-gear-mazda-replaces-my-tranny-103348/
Hope you can get everything worked out...

I had my tranny replaced a month ago. Mine wouldn't go into first. Take it to Hayward Mazda, the service guy, Jeff, helped me out a lot.

If your talking manual transmission, mazda has the techs rebuild them not replace them. The auto transmissions are exchanged for rebuilts.

Only in very very rare cases does the entire manual transmission get replaced.

menlo mazda straight up ordered a new tranny for me and will arrive in a week or so. the techs at menlo and putnam told me that rebuilding a broken part may lead to another problem so they rather replace it.
