That's the only place I'd recommend, sorry about your bad experience there.

 

I used Sidney at Auto Mall Tint in Fremont. He's licensed for both V-Kool and Huper Optik.

PS. You should mention how, how much and why as a service for other board members.

I spent $350 on tint for my Solara when I got it. It was 13% for rear window and rear side windows and then 32% for both front side windows. $200 for the 3 rear windows and $150 for 2 front windows. I didn't care about the price that time coz I was just pissed how hot the sun was and my A/C could not cool down the interior efficiently.

By the time I got into online forums, I later found out that I was overpaying for my tint job. Some people paid almost half of what I did and got the same quality and warranty.

In that case you might not like Sidney. He charged roughly that much to put Huper Optik (ceramic base) on the rear and V-Kool (metallic base) on the side windows of my RX-8. I consider that fair given those are premium brand tints that will easily last 5+ years.

I highly recommend Sidney too. But yes, he does charge more for those products. Although he does carry other products as well. I had a chance to talk to Sidney and his partner and really like their business philosophy. I was so happy with their work I let them use my car on their website.
