whats wrong wit my 8? :\

I've had my 8 for about 2 yrs already. An o4' that is. There was something that's been buggin me. I hardly drive my car. Every sat and Sunday I would always have to jump start it. The battery fails or the alternator. On top of that my check engine light recently went on. Could it be my ignition coils? Exhaust? Cat? Btw... haven't done oil change for a long time and I have a python alarm wit scanners that drains my battery. -__- help!?!

Battery test, alternator test. Have the shop or dealer check for "draws". Most likely your battery is old but it could be faulty wiring in your alarm system.

Take your car down to Autozone to check battery, alternator, and check your codes then clear them. Get rid of/or fix your alarm that drains your charge. Change your oil, coils and spark plugs while your at it. Then get back to us.

The weird part is, I had this issue with the car for a while where I have to jump start it. Its jus that I never had the check engine light go on until now. I already flushed my fluids and is planning to do an oil change today. When I jus got the alarm installed, my car never died like that. Had the alarm for like 2-3 yrs and it jus started actin retard this past few months. Thanks AJ and CruelNewb. I'll go ahead and do that to see wats up.

So.............your alarm is two to three years old, and it drains power from your battery.

Let me guess............your battery is at least 2-3 years old as well and nearing its expected usefull life expectancy?

Find out what that check engine light code is all about...maybe wires aren't on the right way or loose maybe or could be something else entirely. OBDII scanner or Cobb accesport will read it so you know exactly what you're dealing with. Or like I said autozone will check it for free. It is a better tool to tell you whats wrong than us troubleshooting/guessing from the computer. There is a long list of codes on here that will translate the check engine light it for you.

alwaysrunning, i had Mazda take my 8 all the recalls already. found out more things about my car. well i lost my battery cover and i have a cf hood, therefore water is getting onto my battery causing corrosion. to top it off my ignition coils are really bad. plus what i mentioned earlier about the throttle not opening fully. sadly Im broke as of now to get things fixed. i recently placed an order from BHR for coil system so that's gonna take a month or so. then imma get hold of Optima yellow top D35 to replace battery. hope that fixes things up a bit more. the throttle prob.... did some research shudnt be a big issue. jus have a lag in pushing my car on track or lost of power. idk
