Definitely was a great time. I think we had so much fun, partly because of the atmosphere too.
Obviously, the people we were hanging out w/ made a difference, since everyone just wanted to have fun.
My first experience w/ German food, and I was hooked, and I don't care much for beer, but I really enjoyed their's.

If you could suggest a better place, I'm sure Jorge wouldn't mind going w/ me to scope it out on Friday night.
I mean, we have to eat/drink on Friday too.

Do you want to start a caravan thread in the west section?
Maybe we can meet at the shopping center near my house, right off the freeway.

We'll definitely have to caravan it out there again, just need to figure out what time to leave at.
Near your house is a pretty good option since michael will be coming via the 10 or 60 and the rest of us can shoot out the 91 to the 15.

Mind leaving earlier? Gotta have a wonderful brunch at Cesars again!

I can leave earlier. I was just planning on working half-day, but I can take the whole day.

I'll check with Michael and Tim but I'm pretty sure they're going to want to leave earlier. (they're always up bright and early)

PM me where you want to meet up and I'll throw up a thread. We'll put you and your spiffy little Radar detector up at the front of the pack.
Oh, and don't forget your front license plate!

few of will have company so if she doesn't mind hanging out with 'car guys' all weekend bring her along!
Or you could always drop her off at a casino and hope she doesn't spend all your money.

A Nevada cop stopped you???? Better not...... Our rule is vague on the subject and I have never met a cop that bugged me about it or even suggested I had to have it. If I look around I have a letter from the HWY Patrol saying it's ok not to have it as long as the rear plate is very visible.

FOUND it! Cesar's offline so I'm stealing his thunder and posting this for him:

These laws a really there so a cop can find a reason to pull you over if needed, w/o saying "I pulled you over because you're a minority and therefore, probably a criminal."

In other words, they can profile, w/o profiling.

Plus, they make a good add-on when you get stopped for a real offense, and you act like a jerk.

The problem I have, is the cops that are too scared to do real police work, so they only do the fix-it ticket.

The worst of the bunch, by far, is California Highway Patrol.
They shouldn't be allowed to wear a badge. They give real cops a bad name.
CHP is just AAA w/ a badge.

We recently went to the Mazda Tri State meet.
3 RX8's driving down the highway.
I was in front, Scremn8 was 2nd, Jedi54 3rd.
Approaching a CHP guy parked on the shoulder, we slowed down to the speed limit well in time, and as we passed him, he pulled out on to the highway behind us.

(This is why I know for a fact that CHP is a joke, and they will never be real cops, and they do reverse racial profiling)

Anyways, CHP guy pulls out behind us.
1st RX8 he comes to (jedi54), see's a big Mexican (not really Mexican, think he's
from Guatemala, but in So Cal, they're all Mexican, just like in Florida they're all Cuban).
"Drive past that guy, might be trouble."

2nd RX8 he comes to (scremn8). Black guy. (He might be a really dark Cuban for
all I know, but the CHP guy won't take that chance)
"Drive past that guy, might be trouble."

3rd RX8 he comes to is me. Now, contrary to my name, I look like a average 35yr old white guy.
CHP guy thinks, "Ah, white guy, he's probably safe to stop."

So he lights me up, comes to the window and says,
"You weren't doing anything wrong, but I stopped you because you don't have a front license plate."

Please note, none of the other 8's he passed to get to me, had front plates either.
But, no worries, I did give him their info and they will be getting fix-it tickets by mail.
Why by mail, because CHP guys are afraid of really crime or confrontation.
After all, why did they go CHP instead of PD.

Do you think when that guy sat around watching CHiP's on TV in the 80's he thought,
"Hmm, maybe one day I can grow up to be CHP like Poncherello. Except, I'll just give fix-it tickets and play it safe."

Lesper here's a quick rundown of cost:
3 - 4 tanks of gas
hotel for 2 nights ($40 a night)
Dinner Saturday night: $50 - $70 (for both of you), just depends on how much you drink

Other then that, that's about it. If you're gambling or shopping, that could add a bit more but that's a controllable expense.
It's probably going to be one of your 'cheaper' trips to Vegas since you'll be doing car stuff for most of it and not doing a ton of shopping / gambling.

You have insulted half the club ..........where is the Asian? Now if we have a Hispanic, a black man and a white guy are being discriminatory? That cop should have written Cesar a ticket for discrimination (it would have made more sense).

This is Las Vegas, you have have gourmet or buffet - food is the least of your expenses. Figure a tank of gas for the Saturday drive - other fuel costs depending on your place of residence and other driving you will do. The food cost for lunch at the Fiesta should be less than $30.00 for two and Saturday night the food is reasonable and cost will depend on your beer consumption. Friday evening is just a meet with everyone splitting up afterwords and going their own ways. Some will go clubbing, others will just get sleep. I am not planning anything that by it self will be expensive.

Last year 1/4 of the group were female

It just so happens there were no Asians w/ us. Besides, CHP tends to steer clear of Asians because they are too hard to profile. Come on, over half the world's population is Asian.
On one hand, you have the quiet, good at math, rich kid who's driving a nice sports car,
then on the completely opposite side, you have the wanna be Thugz-Life YO! gangster kid.
Then there's the billions that fall in-between those two groups.
(Of course, I'm not including the Yakuza because they drive Skylines. Those guys mean serious business)

That's too much to grasp for a small, fragile, CHP mind.

But, this next trip should be better.
We have some guys that look whiter than me going (rglbgl/lesper/newcastle)
We have at least 1 Asian signed up that I know off (ngoRX8)
And, just to be safe, I'm gonna barrow a bunch of LA RAZA and Hecho En Mexico decals from Jedi.

FYI - For the record, I'm latino, and born way, way south of the border.
