Cool The ULTIMATE SoCal Dyno Tuning Event - 2011

Thanks to the huge success of last year's Dyno Meet, we've decided to kick off the year like only SoCal can! The 2011 Dyno Event will once again span over TWO FULL DAYS of dyno runs, AccessPORT tuning, on-site installs, and all the other shenanigans that have made the SoCal Dyno Tuning Event a must-attend meet over the past 4 years.

Jeff (Mazdamaniac) will be doing live AccessPORT tuning, the entire Black Halo Racing team will be there to talk tech, help with remote installs, and possibly show off a few new prototype products they have coming in 2011.

When:
  • Saturday February 26th, 2011
  • Sunday February 27th, 2011

Location:
SR Motorcars is the official Dyno Shop for all of my Dyno Days as they have proven themselves an invaluable partner to this community. SR MotorCars' new manager Matt has offered to once again host the event and we're looking forward to returning to for another epic weekend.

SR MotorCars
115 E. Gardena Blvd
Gardena, CA 90248
(310) 516-1003
Google Map Directions

The first car goes on the dyno at 9:00 am sharp on Saturday the 26th and at 9:00 am on Sunday the 27th.

Cost:

SR Motorcars' discounted pricing for the weekend:
  • Non- AP Dyno includes 3 pulls and a printout: $50
  • N/A AP Dyno Time includes 5 pulls and a printout: $75
  • FI AP Dyno Time = $100 per hour

Tuning Costs:
Given that we have 2 full days reserved for this event, there will be a total of 20 'time slots' available for the weekend with a maximum of 10 slots per day.
Time slots are defined as:
  • 1 slot per normally aspirated RX-8 tuning via AccessPORT
  • 2 slots per forced-induction RX-8 tuning via AccessPORT

The prices below assume that all 20 slots are filled prior to the event and will be adjusted accordingly should they not be.
  • $65 for NA tuning
  • $130 for FI tuning
Tuning services are being offered to all current MazdaManiac Custom Calibration Services customers. Non-MMCCS calibration time slots are surcharged an additional $150, which includes enrollment into the MMCCS, starting on the Dyno Day and extending for a period of SIX (6) months.
N/A customers of the MMCCS whose subscription has expired are exempt from having to renew for this event.
FI customers whose subscriptions are past the 6 month term will need to renew their subscription at a discounted rate. I will PM details.

- Please ensure that your vehicle is in working condition as tuning from scratch plus having to troubleshoot mechanical issues will not be possible due to time restraints.
- I will be collecting all Tuning Fees in advance and these will be non-refundable as the cost includes travel & hotel expenses for Jeff and the BHR Team. I will PM all participants to discuss payment options.

New AccessPORT customers:
MazdaManiac will be offering the AccessPORT with the MMCCS for $100 off if the purchaser picks up the device at the event. Orders must be placed at least 10 days before the event. Orders may be placed on MM's website at this dedicated link: http://www.mazdamaniac.com/cobb/socal_ordering.htm

BHR Services for the Weekend
As mentioned, BHR will be on site and will be offering services at a discounted rate.
  • Seafoam Treatments: $60
  • Compression Test: $100
If you are interested in either of these services, please let us know and we'll schedule it for either Saturday or Sunday based on availability.

Saturday:
The Reverend: Compression Test
Map: BHR Ignition Install and Seafoam

Sunday:

Day 1:
  1. Phil's8: (AP) Pettit Supercharger
  2. NgoRX-8: (AP) HKS Turbo
  3. ronx8 (AP) Dyno + tuning
  4. pdxhak (AP) BNR Turbo
  5. FastRX8 (AP) Dyno + tuning
  6. ZOOM-I-DO (AP) Dyno + tuning
  7. Laythor: (AP) Dyno + tuning
  8. map (AP) Dyno + tuning

Day 2:
  1. Newcastle (AP) Dyno + tuning
  2. Gregs: (AP) BNR Turbo
  3. Jedi54 (AP) Dyno + tuning
  4. Konig:(AP) Greddy Turbo
  5. Elf (AP) Dyno + tuning
  6. Scremn8 (AP) Dyno + tuning
  7. Dynamic Dookie:(AP) Greddy Turbo
  8. Flashwing: (AP) Greddy Turbo

Both Days currently have time slots available so please let me know which day you'd prefer and I'll do my best to accommodate your request. As always, this event is open to ALL RX-8 owners who want to participate whether they are N/A, FI, and even those who do not currently own an AccessPORT and simply want dyno time to get a baseline.
Please note that should interest exceed the 20 allocated time slots, priority will be given to AP tuning customers and non-AP members will be added in the order they sign up.

Keep in mind that from the time we load the car on the dyno to the time we take it off could be 30-45 minutes so we will need to be as efficient as possible. The BHR team will be assisting to keep things in order and will be making sure things move along smoothly. Each person needs to make sure they are prepped and READY to get their car on the dyno at their allotted time slot.
We will have Donuts in the morning and be ordering a mountain of pizza for lunch so have some extra cash on you and we'll work right through lunch to keep this event moving.

Professional Photography
This year's event will be photographed by a resident professional Zach Benge who does exceptional work and will be offering to sell prints of your cars or any pictures he takes during the course of the two day meet. Take advantage of this guys, this is an amazing opportunity that you definitely don't want to miss out on.

Prices will vary based on the picture and size but I can guarantee you it'll be worth every penny.

Will do!
Roger: If I remember correctly, you bought your AP used, right?
If so, let me know because we'll need to enroll you in the MMCCS. Details are under the 'cost' section.

Looking forward to seeing your new mods.

Thanks Rev, I appreciate the kind words. The question on everyone's mind now is: will this be the year we see that blue beauty of yours on the dyno??

It has always been two separate fees. Pay the shop and pay the tuner (or Jedi in this case).

ooo that makes sense. No wonder when I read the dyno fee i was excited it got cheaper. I guess I thought it was just one large fee last year.
