Tucson, Az area RX8 owners club?
I am interested in forming a Tucson, Az area RX 8 owners club for meets and events, as well as possibly to coordinate events with the Phoenix area owners. Let me know what you think.

Fleck,
Hi there! I'm one of the Phoenix folks. We've got a whole bunch of us up here. So far I only know of one other Tucson owner. His nick is Edge. What color did you get? Maybe we can set up a Casa Grande run sometime?

Sanguine_Dark,
Thanks for the invite. I really appreciate it. I saw your post list of Phoenix owners and was interested in joining your group. Thought I would send out a post to the Tucson area, but it does not seem there are many down here. I have only seen about four around town so far. It would be great to get together with other owners, because the RX-8 is such an awesome car. I have learned a lot about the car from some very knowledgeable folks right here on the RX-8 Club.com. I have a 2004 Velocity Red GT, 6Spd, Appearance, Two tone chapparel/black leather.

I live in Benson, AZ. I just purchased a 2004 RX8, Grand Touring Package, Navigation System, Spoiler, etc. Would be interested in meeting anyone from Tucson. Maybe we could get a club going. We have TWO RX8's in Benson......both Silver.

Great. Let's form a Group in Southern Arizona and do a meet in Casa Grande with the Phoenix area owners.
As you are aware, there are two Outlet strip malls in Casa Grande right off of I-10, so those would be good locations for lunch/shopping. Since things are so flat out in that area, don't know of many winding roads. As an option to driving up I-10, I thought the Southern Arizona RX-8 owners could take the longer, scenic way up to Casa Grande via 77/79 to Florence and then over to Casa Grande. I know out on 79 between Oro Valley and Florence it is a pretty wide open, two-laner which could make for interesting "leap frog" passing as a Group. Kind of like a bike peleton taking turns in the front. Thanks all for responding and I look forward to meeting you in the near future. Sanquine-Dark, if want to propose a date and time we can throw it out there for any takers.

Gents,
I'm forwarding this thread to several rotary owners that I know in the Tucson area. Most own First, Second, and Third generation RX-7s (1979-1995), but they may be interested in hooking up with you and getting a rotary club or RCCAZ Tucson Chapter off the ground!!

Keep me posted guys. I don't do much socializing but am interested in the tech stuff. I have a 95 RX7 and was pondering an RX-8 for a possible future car. Kevin Fox-TUCSON

Tim just shot me this link, I am one of the aforementioned Tucson rotary enthusiasts. I currently own a 1988 10th Anniversary TII, which is torn apart in my garage at the moment getting much needed detail work to the engine bay.
As Tim mentioned, there is a loose knit community of rotary owners, we usually get together for BBQs, etc but nothing terribly formal. I think last Christmas we had a party/gift exchange. If the RX-8 people get something going, I would be more then happy to attend (assuming the 7s are invited..)
BTW, those RX-8s are sweet looking rides! I am dying to get a ride in one!!

Hmm, I just had my post deleted
I have 3 FC's: 88 10th AE with fully body kit and a killer motor to boot, a 91 GXL red with grey fender and my soon to be daily driver an IS300 yellow 89 GXL.
In short, like Jarrett said, there are actually quite a few of us Rx7 owners in town, we just aren't very organized. There are usually weekly gatherings to work on one car or another. We have done an occasional BBQ or gift exchange as well.
I'm down for helping to get a club going however I can help.
Look forward to meeting you.
-Chris

Hey everyone. I'm an enthusiest of the car, I started off with liking the looks but learning that it came with the rotary sparked my interest quite a bit more. I hope to own my own RX-8 by march, and I'd be really interested in being a part of this.

I moved to Tucson about 6 months ago and have had my RX-8 since just before Christmas. I'm up for some Tucson socializing.
