Station Fire - Updates / Pics / News

I didn't see a thread for this but figured it could come in handy.

For those who don't know, Southern California is dealing with yet another enormous fire that is threatening homes, businesses and schools.

As of today, the fire is 140,000 acres and continues to expand.
I know we've had a few local members affected by the fire who have been forced to evacuate their homes, hopefully all is well with them and their families.

Feel free to post updated info, stories, or pictures.
My thoughts are with everyone in the area and I hope that no one in this community is adversely affected by these fires.

I just hope this thread can be of use to some people.

Did you guys hear about the 2 people that tried to wait out the fire in a hot tub thinking they wouldn't get burnt?

Prayers go out for the families of the Firemen who died in when the engine flipped over coming down the moutain in the Mt Gleason area.

Be safe Tilt and all you other guys who live up here.

I work a few miles south of the mountains and it is pretty wretched up here. Super hot and smokey smelling, outside if feels like a room that has absolutely no air circulation, just very stifling and unpleasant.

I was in Pasadena the day after the fire broke out and it was already miserable. I can only imagine what it's like now.
I know our Corporate buildings in the area are being forced to run the A/C on recirculate otherwise due to all the ash in the air.

I was saddened to hear about the two firemen who were killed.

I hear you, ashes are all over the place. With all these ashes check the weather before you do too much physical activities in the area. http://airnow.gov/index.cfm?action=a...cal&CityID=499

FYI, I have heard on the radio that this Friday is Fire Fighter Friday, and you are supposed to turn your headlights on all day to show your support.

I don't get it.. instead of spending tens of millions on extinguishing fires every year, why don't they just invest in some geosynchronous satellites with high definition IR cameras to monitor the socal mountain ranges 24/7?

and that mushroom cloud looks INTENSE..

Saw this on the news few days back, terrible. Wonder if it was arson this time or just ignited on its own?

How I'd love to find one of these ******** in a dark alley some day.
I have NO respect or tolerance for someone who would intentionally start a fire like this.

You need a clan of forest ninja's roaming the woods at night, protector of nature. Or hell, just call them Leaf Ninja's from the anime Naruto

Vlaze: I'd vote for Leaf Ninjas if it was ever on a ballot.

Volcom: oh crap man, that sucks. Hopefully the fire stays away from your GF's place.
