Hrm...to be honest I haven't taken the tray off to look underneath it, but I would think the front bumper directs all the airflow to your radiator....and that tray is way up there to do anything effective I would of thought.

It seems we're missing the smiley that scratches his noggin..

random thought: Mazdatrix FTMFW.
I ordered a case of Idemitsu Pre-mix from them yesterday and selected USPS priority mail as the shipping method since I figured it would be the most inexpensive.
They just called me to tell me that UPS is significantly cheaper for shipping the Idemitsu so they changed my shipping method and I should receive it by Friday.

now THAT'S service.

jedi: I had a similar situation, i ordered my voodoo **** from thompson automotive last nite and didnt realize they were in san clemente and i paid the couple extra bucks for faster shipping and the owner emailed me and told me he would ship it today and refund me a little bit because the faster shipping would actually slow it down since he isnt to far. Apparantly ground would have been faster.

and thank you everyone. looks like ill switch to 5w30 on my next oil change

i think you guys have misconceptions, a 30 weight is a 30 weight the front numbers are only how it reacts in cold winter like situations like can tell you royal purple is good performance oil but its cleaning qualites are inferior to an sm rated oil

Actually, I think you have misconceptions still floating around. The front number is the initial weight when starting the car up before it reaches operating temperature weight. It doesn't act like that in just winter conditions, it acts like that all year long. Any oil is thicker in the cold obviously because it's colder out.

There was a long topic on this and someone linked a article that a guy did research on showing that you can not have to low a viscosity for starting weight, in other words 0w. I agree, even if I was in the desert 0w just allows the engine to start up easier, lubricate the parts better and transition to the operating temperature weight when it reaches it.

A 5w-30 is not the same as a 10w-30 when you start your vehicle up to the time it reaches operating temperature.
