in CA you must have a front plate affixed to the vehicle.
if not, you have to go get an inspection and have it signed off. (where they'll give you MORE tickets if they find stuff that isn't up to par)

My license plate is in my front passenger side window. In between the dash and glass. Is that cool? Drove by many cops and no issues so far *knock on wood*
