I wouldn't exactly call the Bimmer crowd a prestigious ones comparable to a Viper, Corvette or Porsche one......while they cost more than the typical sports car or sport sedan, whatever, they're a different breed contrast to a true sports car enthusiast base as those I mentioned.
But pretty much you're gonna get your share of random douches in any club, just the more expensive ones have less of them usually because most douches are from a wannabe background sticking with cheaper cars they can afford and mod for bragging, at least that's IMO.

I like to think of it as the boy scout modo: Always be prepared 
I do plan to make it functional. I probably would get an after market hood then cut up the OEM one.

As for interior taste, it's subjective.

jk jki'm not knockin' the bmw crowd but they're developing a some-what ricer crowd that is bringing down their community a bit. It might just be the local community of course too - socal has been known to have a good number of douche's
I think one cool thing about some of the other clubs, prestigious or not, is that they acknowledge another club. (unless its the civic clubs - for most part there's a common distaste for them). Both times we've passed by the vipers n' porsches n' they both gave us either a nod or a thumbs up when passing by.
You know the guy is cool when his car is blacked out and he has 0% bling. That goes for any car/driver.
'laze: i agree - bmw shouldn't be considered on the same level as the others but try tellin' them that n' you'll find yourself in an argument at times. At least with the M series guys.
mike; acknowledgment and acceptance are two different things. I too could give a **** if they approve of me but the acknowledgement of exsistence is nice.
This is probably why a lot of honda guys always have a chip on their shoulders when they pull up next to other cars at a light.
