They towed it to my house. Cop went easy on me, because the officer before didn't give me much information on how bad a "Box 1" was.

$90 tow bill for 5 block towing.. Lawl.

Life's tough when you're broke - just make sure you're not stupid because life is damn near impossible when you're broke AND stupid.

 

and thats why I want to move to Canada. In cali they would tow your **** to an impound lot tow costs like $500 and storage fees are like$100 a day$gate fee is around $75 etc etc.

 

I'm screwed.

 

ACTUALLY - since this recently happened to me when i got my car impounded about 3 weeks ago, i can tell you how much it EXACTLY costs.

$250 for the release papers from the local PD: you can't get your car unless the local PD gives you the release forms

$150-$250 for towing (depending on distance)

$116-$125 A DAY for every day its in the tow yard

$200 for the release and storage (even if it's only been there for 3 hours)

Total cost to me: Approx. $800


FML. . .

 

When I got poped for suspended license they wouldn't let me pull my car out for 30 days... Cant even tell you how awesome that was.

actually, that's exactly why my car got impounded. the only reason i was able to get it out the same day was because i managed to talk the cop into having it released. He was gonna hold it but i lucked out on that. $115 a day for 30 days would've killed me.

when this happened to my first car - i just left it in the yard. They sold it at an auction to pay off most of the debt. I had to pay the rest.
