the IT market is still pretty decent out here.

My suggestion would be to have a general understanding of multiple fields within IT to better your chance of job placement. Another suggestion: become an excellent salesman. Not like go into sales or something but become good at selling yourself to employers.

Here's a glimpse of what we have in socal:

Website: http://lateralg.com/

It has mapped out courses of different canyon's in the area. You can select them by area

I know a decent amount. I am a Systems Administrator and do a lot of Information Assurance work as well. IA is big here in DC with gov oriented jobs. Not so sure about CA though..

Adam, get a job with Cisco, then relocate to any office in the nation you want. BOOM, there you go.

Well sorta semi-serious but no really, you get huge benefits working for them, and as ASE (assistant sales engineers) you can pretty much relocate anywhere you want, presuming you are middle to top of your class after training for a year with them which you get paid for as well.. you wind up also traveling a lot.

They hire anyone from any background, you just may have it easier coming from IT. My brother and his wife have worked there for 6 years and they have a great promotion/job/reward ladder program to work your way up to different titles or job positions. They both work from home right now currently making good money.

there's a huge facility out in the san jose area. If you relocate to that area in california that'd be badass! Near laguna seca

Cisco is big in Cali, especially since its started over there. Hell, Cisco is internationally big, they're the networking leaders
