Sell your turbo kit and other crap and get a 6 port swap. You'll make just as much power with a turbo'ed 4 port auto

 

Gregs: I cant take the wait anymore, looks like Im going to give in and pay for the engine out of my own pocket. Trusting you Im going to buy a new (remanufactured) engine from MAZDA (<--- make me want to throw up)

The engines run for $2500 from Mazda. w/o labor.

I recently had the money to buy my engine however due to me having to pay for some expenses for work in order for me to become BADGED for LAX and some other places we work at.... Im looking at another 2 months.....

The boring part is going to find someone to swap the engines. You know my story in full detail with what happened between my car and MAZDA and at this point I can't or don't really trust anybody with my car at all. My car is currently at my body shop getting with the new bumper + its somewhat a "free storage" for my car since there is little space here at my house with my brothers 64 in the garage, his GFs Accord in the driveway, as well as my DD right now since I dont have my 8 running.

I asked BHR for a quote on a swap and they quoted me 1600 just the labor......

The Dealer charges 1800.....

After all this BS I do still want to go turbo and all that. Izzy suggested to just have BHR rebuild it stronger than stock for the turbo i plan putting on there but I dont even know if my engine is even rebuildable (using the same housings/rotors it already has and not needing another) and thats going to cost a pretty penny over buying from MAZDA.

Mazdatrix charges like 2200+ (i was like wtf! )

Some place in Gardena tells me that they dont do "base rebuilds for RX8's" that they only do "high HP rebuilds" (they do FD's).... Izzy and myself laughed out loud ... High HP rebuild on a RENESIS? ......yeah right. Thats when I knew to keep looking....

i think its a good idea to go with the mazda reman for the price..I would offer to pull and replace that motor but the amount of time it would take would run out of time driving out there...glad your moving foward..keep me posted

I don't like messing with autos. The auto transmission is more complicated and heavier than the engine.

Easy- Not its not, and I am sorry if I made it sound like an unfair price. It was random, and along with the other prices from places I have looked at.... BHR is clearly the best priced. I would certainly trust BHR over the dealer, i was just keeping GREGS posted on my situation.
