AZ Need Dealer (service) Recommendations in AZ?

So I found some older threads. Who are the good dealers in the state? I am Sierra Vista, but Donovan Mazda is an epic failure if their parts department is any indication, that or the fact that they are MOPAR first and Mazda second. Jim Click seems to have pretty bad reviews in Tucson, so I guess I am driving to Phoenix? Showcase still good?

I need to get MIAC and a mirror rattle fixed.

Go to Berge Mazda in Gilbert AZ. Ask for Vince or Dave in the service dept. I have worked with them for the past 5+ years and I highly recommend them. dealership is Gold rated. Which means that when another dealers service department can't figure out whats wrong they send the cars to Berge Mazda.

I've had quite a lot of experience with Berge Mazda as well and suggest Erick's directions. They have pretty good techs and our local Mazda club has had good experiences with them. As Erick mentioned they normally get all the rotary cars that other dealerships cannot fix.

Vince is a service rep and a rotary enthusiast so he takes care of all us rotary owners.

Other dealers are a bit hit or miss.

Just checking in if this is still relevant info. I recently moved to Tucson, so hoping Jim Click is better than 10 years ago?

Someone told me about RX for your 7, but they seem to have closed up shop for new customers. I'm a little leery of just rolling up to a shop (dealership or otherwise) without knowing that someone there is specifically trained on rotaries. Don't need anything super special for now, just routine maintenance, maybe some plug replacements as it's starting a bit hard lately.

TIA

Help?!

Does anyone know where I could get some help with my radiator in the phoenix area? I’m really low on money, and haven’t been able to work since my rx-8 has been down. If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated.

thanks

Unfortunately not - I had the former Mazda dealer (Automall) do the oil change back when I posted previously. I asked about the hard starting and they said hard starting is normal even after I asked specifically about plugs. Only when I picked up the car did I find out that they were ceasing operations as a Mazda dealer and focusing solely on Hyundai.

Fast forward maybe a year (which was like 300 miles because I barely drive it) and I decided to pull the plugs myself in prep to sell. Lo and behold on of the electrodes CAME OUT OF THE PLUG when I pulled the wire off. So I'm completely not impressed with the place that shut, and the remaining place in town (Jim Click Mazda East) is owned by the same dealer group.

FWIW, the pugs didn't solve my hard starting, so compression test was in order. I'm not buying the equipment for that, so over to Jim Click was my only option. Got the quote yesterday for $13.5k for a new engine + coils.

Anyone know if $13.5k is reasonable? I see a new engine from Pineapple Racing is $7k, a roughly equal amount in labor / ancillary parts seems a tad high to me?

No. That sounds like a "we don't want that work" quote.

But, I live in AZ, and I unfortunately have no idea of a good shop here. Not that there isn't one, I just don't get around much.

There was some recent talk of AZ shops in the last year or two, try to google it from outside the forum with RX8club in the terms.
