oh crazy you actually cut it yorself i'm scared to do that lol

I never got to that state unfortunatly. Kit went 6 feet under before I could.

Nah, professionally done. But, learn from my mistake: Make sure they use high temp paint on the black portion of the scoop (look at my pix to get what I mean) cause it will fade if it isn't high temp.

Is it worth having the hood scoop actually "functional" asside from being able to say it works? Seems like it would just create more drag and higher air pressure in the bay. Not exactly directed towards the intake so no ram air effect, just seems like it wouldn't really function for anything. Dunno though, just some input.

the whole scoop is black and what do yo mean high temp paint? they offer that? lol

Most cars with OEM scoops are for intake purposes, typically american muscle (think firebird, old school roadrunner, etc). Cowl vents were also popular for air intake, both scoops and cowls should be for an actual air intake, typically directed towards a carb in old school cars.

Vents work the opposite direction and with a combination of multiple vents following each other air is allowed to escape. Hood tilt works as well, but must be up enough to allow air circulation on the side as well, otherwise it will have a cowl effect.
