the water in the intake isn't TOO bad as most of it will evaporate before it does any damage.
some guys even do it on PURPOSE to steam clean the inside of their rotaries as a way of getting rid of carbon build up.
what kind of intake is it?

so I went to NRG today and spoke to some guy called Steven about the hood shocks. He informed me that the CF ones are now being made with 1/2 pressure for CF hoods so I need t get the polished ones. He is gonna swap em for me, lets hope they work.
They were really cool about it and tried some different extensions to make the CF ones work since I prefered that style.

As you guys know my car is pretty damn low. I've got the MS intake and was very wary driving around today. I kept the car 1-2 gears lower than normal to keep the rps up, especially if I happened to see a flooded area aka puddle. Never above 4k though, don't want the intake to (try to) suck in too much air (water) and cause issues with the MAF, bad memories...
I believe he has an AEM.

water near the MAF will freak it out and your car can stall out. I remember there was a guy in canada who took his car to one of those drive-thru auto car washes and his AEM intake did not like that much.
basically you wont permanently damage anything (or at least shouldnt) but there might be some unforseen temporary issues. (stalling, idle fluctuation, etc)

I vividly remember the thread, I think I may have been one of the main posters.
MAF read off of temperature and water tricks it to think more air is going in than actually is which will lean out the AFRs, thus killing the cat. Whilst naive during the winter of 07 I actually did the same to my car on the way to Irvine, same day as 7stock. The car wouldn't die IIRC but bog down heavily. Months and months later I was in Mazda for a new cat + MAF, luckily I had the MS intake so it was all covered.
Moral of the story? For you AEM/MS intake owners, keep revs up on rainy days, but not too high, nor to quickly/excessively. I always think of it that each rainy day my engine gets a very minor steam clean

Well, they do come with a water resistant sock, I just get lazy to put it on. I say get one if you get the chance, definitely one of the 2 best intakes available imo!

wow. faiil.
