should i change my oil pre 3,000 miles? i'm nearing 2k miles and on my other car (bmw) they had me bring it in at 1200 for a full fluid change.

On all the crate motors i've broken in i've done 100/500/1000/3000 oil change intervals, but i've never broken in a rotary.

would just draining the oil and putting new stuff in without changing the filter hold me over til my free change at 3,000 miles?

what do you guys think

 

i wouldnt leave the old filter on very long...

 

chris: I always do an oil change at the 1k mark on a new engine
then after that every 2.5k - 3,000

here in glendale/burbank 78 degrees nice and sunny little chilly. but nice. foggy last nite near the coast up near santa barbara
