Snow in Las Vegas
Snow in Las Vegas
Im surprised no one started a thread about this already, but where I was in LV we had 2-3 inches on the ground. I know the whole vally got some. Crazyness, the ski resort here, 40 miles away, has gotten 6 feet in the last 1.5-2 weeks! Didnt think Id ever need snow tires here, the drive to work was a little slippery this morning!

Summerlin is prettier because it is close to the spring mountains and it does get an occasional snow becuase it is at a higher elevation. The biggest problem in Summerlin is traffic congestion.
GV is less congested, almost never sees snow, but it is farther from the spring mountains.
My advice is to stay at GV-Ranch a couple days to check out GV and stay a couple days at the Regent to check out Summerlin.
Good luck.

I acutally worked in Lake Forrest and in the Ft. Sheridan area for a while and lived in Wisconsin. Occassionally, I would have to make the trip into the loop, so I have a little familiarity with Chicago traffic. Traffic in Summerlin during the work week sees stop and go rush traffic. When we first moved here we lived on the NW side of town and I work downtown. After my average commute time rose from 15 minutes to 45 minutes over the course of 18 months we moved to the GV area. If you live North of the Rainbow Curve traffic sucks getting to the city/strip and heading home after 4/5pm.
Good luck. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

we'll prob spend a lil time in Summerlin and GV to get a feel of the areas..
It didn't last even in the areas where it accumulated. I work downtown and we watched the snow fall but the ground was to warm to allow accumulation. Higher up in Summerlin I heard it stuck to the groud but it didn't last that long.
