SM/LA no0b needs help.
has anyone deflooded an rx8 before? i had my baby sat for 2 weeks and now it doesn't fire up. i have tried cranking the car n had aaa come to jump start the car n it still didn't work. I called mazda dealership to ask if my "total care" warranty covers it, but they said they can't tell until they inspect it.. and the inspection costs 95$!!!! not to mention the full service dealership is in alhambra, towing service would cost another two hundred.
so is there anyone in santa monica/los angeles area can help a rx8 fellow to deflood my car? I can pay. Thanks.

I understand, and that totally reasonable. I have unflooded 2 rx8's and countless rx-7's. I have been on the 7 club since 05 and have personally owned 6 FC's. Here is what the plan is, we will pull the plugs and 20 amp fuel pump fuse as a start. Can you get a new set of plugs to replace the fouled set when we get it running? Sound ok? Is the battery dead?

i don't know where to get new set of plugs, do you have an extra set? I will pay for that, too. I'm pretty sure the AAA guy told me it's not the battery problem..
So are you free tomorrow to unflood my car?

UPDATE
Battery was under 11.5 volts and wouldn't take a charge. I was the OEM from the factory. Starter is acting up, it will throw the pinion gear out, but the motor doesn't turn. We had to bump the car in gear to move the flywheel to get to engage and turn everytime. Swapped to a good battery and cracked it with the 20 amp fuel pump fuse pulled. Car wouldn't even cough and smelled up the joint with fuel. Pulled the plugs and turned it over to clean her out. Torched the plugs with a lighter and reinstalled them. BTW they looked new. Turned it over and it gave a half a cough. Tried it a few more times and the starter was acting up almost every time. Now I am wondering if the starter is not turning over the motor quick enough to fire. Another problem, car is in an underground parking garage so it is not possible to push/ drag start it. UGH!!! The car has the total care warranty so the next move it to call the dealer to see if it is covered without the worry of the $95 inspection fee. Any thoughts?

the more things change
need two battery's to turn it, or one really strong battery.
if you have an 04 or an 05 then it's the old starter and needs
either a really strong battery or both.
ive flooded my car more time then i can count.
but the battery is the key. i have a red top.

problem solved. the warranty covers the floodin problem but charged me 450 to fix the coil ignition... that's the reason why it takes longer to fire up my 8... damn, i'm broke :\
