not hating at all Gr8, I actually LOVE the idea. I've talked about it for 3 years now but have never been able to do it mainly due to the Cost factor and that this is a meet where we sometimes see a lot of members flake because their alarms didn't go off in time or they got hammered the night before at the pre-party. ie; the cost goes up because there are fewer people paying the day of. Maybe we could take donations in advance????

If we were to do something like that, the best route would be to hire an off-duty motorcyle escort similar to what is used in funeral processions. The only issue I see there is whether we can reserve them for that early in the morning and how we'd split up the cost.

Could always just outfit a few 8s with lights and sirens....

I hear the CHP would love that.

But seriously, it is still something that could be handled internally. All we need is a few people with some level of convoy trailing, military preferred, and everyone else to recognize that we know what in the hell we are doing, and it would smooth out quite a bit.

If everyone is willing and actively cares, trying to keep a bunch of 8s together is easier than trying to keep a line of 30+ 5-tons and humvees with a max speed of ~45mph though afternoon rush hour.

But all it will take is a few jerk offs wanting to do their own thing and the plan would go down the drain.

I looked into it last year and can't remember the exact cost. If people are interested in making a GRAND ENTRANCE to SevenStock via a motorcycle escort, let me know and we can re-visit the idea.

It would be a simple matter for radio communication between primary (Jedi probably), lead and trail, and have at least 1 of the radios outputting through a short range FM transmitter (I use one all the time), so everyone can hear what is going on without giving everyone a "talk" button.

Coordinate route, choke points, lanes, etc... and it is entirely doable.

THIS is always a concern of mine as it only takes a few people to ruin it for everyone.

SPEAKING OF WHICH....
Last year we had a group of RX-8's (you know who you are and so do I) that felt it necessary to show up to the meet spot squealing tires and racing up the main entrance.

We were THIS CLOSE to getting throw off the property after that stunt and that will NOT be tolerated again this year.
The security guards at that mall have always accomodated us invading their parking lot but I was told that if we did that again, we would not be welcome back.

If you cannot control yourself and act responsibly while we are there, you are not welcome.

way ahead of ya buddy.
Caravan leaders (who will be picked by Ngo and I) will have radios so that we may be in constant communication. Spotters are also deployed at strategic points within the caravan to keep things in order.
The hardest part is merging the two groups together on the freeway.

The entrance to the freeway is 1 lane so typically I will take half the pack with me, there will be someone on a radio towards the rear of this pack.
Ngo exits the lot as the last car in my pack leaves and will then attempt to 'catch up' (mainly it's me driving super slow to assist with this) and pull up alongside my group. Last year the two groups were side by side by the time we passed the 405 fwy which was a great job by Ngo.

Staying responsible during the meet up and the carvan over doesn't make it less fun.

Showing how fast your 8 is in teh parking lot twistiez won't impress anyone and will just generate hate.

Do your radios have aux/phono headphone jacks by any chance? I know that this biggest frustration for the people in the middle without radios is not knowing what is going on if there is even the slightest bobble. FM transmitter would be a great way of keeping everyone informed.
