After reading through this whole thread this morning, I'm envious of the good times you have ahead. Be careful, have a great time, and take plenty of pictures so I can see what I missed.

By the way, I like the stock corners on the VR8. Clear doesn't work for me. I just put a set of all season tires (Bridgestone Potensa RE960AS, 245/40/18) on the 8 here in Indy. Can't believe the difference it made in tire noise. I knew the RE040s were bad. I can hear my radio now. However, I'm paying a big price in performance... the nimble feel of the car is gone. Front end feels heavier and slower. Oh Well.

By the way... I came out of Discount Tire... noticed my TPMS was on... pulled back in... checked my tire pressures (DR=26.5psia, DF=26.0psia, PF=31.5psia, PR=38.0psia). Needless to say... I brought this to their attention. When I rolled out... 35psia all around. Gotta wonder about a tire place that misses things that bad???

Well, have a great time at SSX. Wish I was there to drive with you!

John

Yea, me too, just had two tires installed on the rear Hiro Axis wheels at Discount yesterday (with the TPMS I bought here on the forum), and I get home to notice that there are 13!!!! wheel weights on one, and 7 on the other, scratches on the centerbore paint (& I don't use centercaps), nasty lube crap everywhere, and to top it off, one of them had an extra rim-clip-on style weight on the back side rim edge that is causing a small leak! I could see and hear the bubbles popping from the bead. My god.

Oh, and I got the replacement MB this morning, but same ****!!! I think it might be the used T7200 Intel CPU I got.... the guy shipped it wrapped in normal bubblewrap in a box (no antistatic anything). Probably zapped the damn thing real good. What next.

Hey Eric,

So I've read about your bad luck with engines recently. What happened to the first one? That is first engine/second car. Enjoy the trip out and say hello to everyone for me.

Oh, and the Rockblocker is for the new carbon fiber hood, to protect it from rock chips (duh) and to prevent the cf from fading. A friend has one that is 2+ years old and it looks news still.

Hey man, no worries, the hotel I was referring to above was for thursday night in Phoenix, cause there ain't no way I am gonna be able to get up early enough to drive to Phoenix from Tucson, and still meet everybody at the cracker barrel on friday morning... I will be staying on the other side of the freeway on Litchfield.

Gotcha on the Rockblocker... thought it'd be easier to have it properly clearcoated, but this sounds like a viable option.

see you all in a few

Rain would be different.

Does Irvine have wind with it's rain? Do I need to bring a shade structure too? I got my 'brella.

Rain might make for nice pictures.

Will the serial numbers run on my raffle tickets if they get wet?

And at least we will have access to plenty of dry shirts!

And I am not ready yet!! Oh well, have credit card will travel.
