Sorry to hear about the fender bender. People are such a-holes in California.
I wish I could make it but I have plans for today, and can you say bad week? Well I finally got my first problem with my 8, for some reason when I have the clutch in it idles fine but when I have the clutch out in nutural it idles up and down (Just bounces up and down the tach all the way up to 3k!?) Then I went to see Redline with the girl and one of my friend who drives a new porsche. Well we both took our cars and when we came out some ***-*** spat all over our cars and my friend got a nice ding.....

hi guys.
sorry didn't make it to the meet today either. also, sorry to hear about car problems jun and the fender bender jonathan. glad u're ok and hope u get the car fixed etc. w/o any issues. which movie theater did u go to jun? sucks that some people just have zero respect.
let us know what's wrong with your car once u get it diagnosed. hope it's a simple fix and that everything works out ok.
on a happier note, i ended up scouting out the Angeles Crest Forest mountains. (near LaCanada/ Foothill area, just northwest of Pasadena.) and, wow- what a fun playground it was.
i guess it's a nice combination of idly wildly and malibu, but with slightly wider roads. there are many park & rest areas, as well as a couple of different routes & forks to choose from- ie like malibu in this respect. lotta picnic and site-seeing areas. and, great mountain scenery to match. there is also a dam on the north side as well.
i explored for about an hour and a half, but there are probably enough runs to last all afternoon i think. i didn't see any other car clubs out there, but i did see some solo car enthusiasts (z's, elises, s2k's), as well as motorcyclists. ample turnouts on the road, and drivers here are very considerate and almost always pull out to let u pass. i only saw one cop car on the way down- near the entrance/ exit. (not bad.) and, there are about 3 solar-paneled digit speedometers posted near the entrance/ exit area of the mountain where the climb begins. not too big a deal either.
all-in-all, i think it's a great playground for driving. and, definitely a place we can consider for a meet. (i will for sure be visiting it again, since it's in my backyard, literally.) i took some pix, but i'll upload them later, as it'll take some time to resize them.

I have lots more, but I think these are are pretty good representation of what the run is like... Hope it sparks some interest for a possible future run...
Am heading to Taipei on Sunday, so will talk to u guys in a week or so. (Or, sooner if I manage to find net access over there somewhere.)

i just google mapped angeles forest hwy, and if you take it all they way through, it'll take you to route 138, which can be taken back home.
or we could start from hwy 138, then take angelest forest hwy, route 2 back up to 138.
just some food for thought
btw, www.imageshack.us FTW!!! much better than this forums uploader thing. 1Mb limit > 144.5Kb limit

[QUOTE=Detrich]hi guys.

There is always one cop on the bottom of that hill. He is usually on the turnout with the radar gun pointed at cars coming down.

That being said, I'll probably watch it. Anything Will Farrell is in, is usually at least a little entertaining.
