This is true,
but when I looked at it, the failure point was not the metal in a formed section (duh, just like you said, its strong there) it was a problem of the spot welds and the surrounding metal not holding up. this WOULD be a problem with thin metal. (the thin *** metal broke around the weld.) a heavier gauge steel could have prevented this.

WOOT! finally got a few new mods for the evo
i bought myself everything i needed to finally get my car dyno tuned
-walbro 255 fuel pump
-fujita intercooler charge pipe (not mandetory, but a proven 10-15awhp extra when tuned
)
-forge unos manuel boost controller
i called tuning technologies, and they say with my mods, ill be looking at roughly 330-340awhp on 91 octane
its so beautiful. and on 100 octane 360i'ish. he couldnt stop talking about how incredible having an instant 80-100awhp feels when you first lay into the throttle after getting your car back..... I CANT WAIT!!!!! im hopefully going to go in early february to get it tuned
i also bought a harness for my HKS turbo timer..that way i dont have to cut into the evos wiring

yeah isnt thatt crazy. 100 h.p. ind its relativly cheap and easy.
gotta love the evo!
only thinkg easier and cheaper to do is get nitrous. but then its not always there, you have to run bottles on, and get them refilled.
I cant wait till you get it done Jesse. I cant imagine how you feela bout it.

COD folk....Cesar was the first to get through the full game on Veteran, and he was the last one to pick up the game. I got through the game on veteran, but am stuck on the damn Mile High level.
Cesar forwarded a Youtube of a guy getting through the level on Veteran without shooting or stabbing a single guy. He just used four flashbangs and the snipe at the end to save the hostage. If your interested, search terms for youtube would be COD4 Mile High Veteran No knife

Almost took home a Mazda 3 last night
Erica and I test drove a Mazda 3 this last weekend as we were down there picking up my car, and they saw Erica's car and were offering us a "good deal" on a trade in.
Well we were offered 14k for the car and knew that was under what we wanted so said thanks, but no thanks. (we thought we owed 19k, but found out last night it is 20k).
Salesman called again and said that they had a manager's meeting and the car came up, they were willing to offer closer to what we were asking, as well as offering a new Mazda 3 at $200 over invoice. So, we went down to see what was the offer and how it may look as a monthly payment structure and so on.
Their new offer was 15k....and at this point we were still under the assumption that we owed 19k. He calls for the official payoff and both Erica and I nearly gringed when we heard 20k for the payoff....we knew, right then, that we were too far away from where we needed to me to make a transaction.
Both Erica and I noticed that there were signs all over the sales department (a simple one page with a big 90 on it)....obviously this is their sales goal and if they got our 8, and sold us a 3, that would get them 2.....
...so I mentioned this..."Sorry, but I don't think we're going to be able to help you get to 90, we're just too far off".
He asked "how do you know about 90?"....and both Erica and I just pointed to the four or five signs that we could see from where we were sitting...and he just smiled.
He asked where we wanted things....and I said if he was able to offer 17k for the car, we would pick out a color of 3 we wanted and buy it right now. I also reminded him that it was he who approached us, telling us that they just can't keep used Rx8's on the lot, and that they were in such high demand. I also indicated that he knew exactly how much they would be selling that car for and that even offering my 17 would still give them a pretty profit. He then said that he had fought to get 18k as an offer for my car, but that the managers wouldn't go for it.
He left our table once more to see what he could do, and Erica and I got up and started to walk out. I asked him to call me when they were ready to offer 17, showed that i still had his business card in my wallet with the VIN of the car we were looking at (I'm a serious buyer)......and we walked out.
I told Erica in the car "I bet you they will call tomorrow....at 17k, they are still going to make an easy 2k on the white 8...they'll call."
Its 2:25, and guess what......no call yet (lol).

when we got the Cobalt, we did something similar (only it was witht he price of the car since there was no trade in). we got up and left and I told Michelle.... they will call.
sure nough, they did, but it wasnt good enough. we simply could not afford the 3. (ok so we didnt want to pay that much)
they called again when I was at the chevy dealership signing the papers on the cobalt, but the offer was still not what I wanted.
I got both my 8 and the cobalt from the same dealer. he is now a friend of mine. Keith if your more intrested in a honest answer, yes or no, you might want to go see him. I will tell him your coming. this is the guy that gave me the cobalt for $250 over invoice. he simply put it "they WILL NOT go lower then this". he also stated that 3's sell very well and they are less willing to come down on the 3sthen the cobalt. (they are both a Mazda and chevy dealer). I feel we got a good deal on the cobalt.
also to clear things up, when I looked at the 3 (the guys that called me) it was a different dealer the one my friend works at.
when I told him my price range, rather then try to pretend they might be able to do something, he simply said "there is no way they will come down that much on the 3, I've tried. but they will come down that much on the cobalt." the cool part is our payment was less then I told him I wanted to pay. (we told him we wanted to pay $250 a month, it is $235... now thats a cool dealer)

yse it is.
we were looking at both 4 door and 2 doors.
we went witht he 2 door cause it looks sooo much better. now we wish we would have went with a 4 door even though they are ugly. (for the kids when we have them)
I think what we are going to do, is just wait till the cobalt is worth what we owe so we can sell it. then buy a used car that is 4 door to keep the cost low.
the goal is for me to be able to take over everything financially so when the time comes she can stay home and take care of them. this would mean that there would have to be NO payment, or one that is crazy low.
but thats all in due time, right now, its just a matter of waiting and getting everything else paid off and sorted out first.
