it was just a thought....and this was one of the reasons.

In looking at my options in replacing the trans.

New from Mazda ($3200)...would come with a warranty which would basically be voided due to the parts I have on the car now, that basically voided the warranty on my current trans.

New from Mazdaspeed program ($2200), comes with NO warranty.

Used (Ebay prices $1000-1400, plus shipping), some companies ship the part with 6 month warranties, some not....but still would be voided, again, for the same parts.

I do not want to get myself into another situation like I was in for the last month. If all it took, was to remove the flywheel and clutch, than that seems to be a reasonable step to take to ensure possible coverage up to 100,000 miles. beyond that point, there would be no warranties in affect, and ultimately, I would be held responsible for replacing the trans.

If we were to use Erica's car...it would not be for BS, it would be for BSP. we would transfer things like the suspension, wheels and midpipe. We would probably go get a lighter exhaust, as her HKS is fricken heavy...she likes the second gen MS exhaust....I kinda like the RB racing exhaust....but she want's to keep some bling. We would remove her body kit, and in the process, get her car repainted from the accident she had.

Just trying to look for best options for us. Ultimately the black 8 will go, when that time comes, and we will have the white one....again, this is way down the road. We were just talking about options.

Keith: why not just remove aftermarket parts related to the trans, leave everything else as is, and keep running bsp.

No purchases yet, but the 31st item just went up.
Not sure where you're getting your count from, but if you go to the main page, then "The Community" then click on WOOTS, you'll see everything.

and the pulleys, exhaust, flash, oversized wheels, blah blah blah, would still void the warrentee..... unless you of course you were to replace all of that before you ever took it in. but bear in mind Mazda knows what you have on your car already. I bet its already way to late. even if you put your car back to stock.

... but whateva ya pleasuh

you have a different clutch?

I'd go back to the OEM flywheel just to be on the safeside, they'd have a hard time convincing me that pulleys, exhaust, etc etc can damage your new transmission.

ACT flywheel and clutch. Same setup we put in Cesar's car. He has had no problems. Casey has just the flywheel. peterisurhero has the flywheel and clutch. He is putting in the new pressure plate this weekend.

Keith: it would suck to have to get another clutch. I say leave the clutch as is, just go back to the OEM flywheel.

If you should ever have problems again (hopefully not) then you could always just pick up a cheap clutch from mazmart or something.
OR you could just spend a little extra $$$ and get something from MazdaTrix

@ Loren -
The woot-off is still going.
I think they're at around 60 items. Click this link below.

Sunday I will be at Casey's installing a clutch. Maybe a set of springs or two.

If you're gonna wash your car, don't you need some Zaino?

Zaino, wax, car wash

i noticed the homelink on the rx-8 takes slightly longer to capture the frequency than other cars. but, it should work with any garage opener. just got to keep holding down both the garage opener button and the homelink button until u see the homelink LED flash. make sure to hold the opener right below the mirror too.

I gotta set mine up for the new house.
If I can remember how to do it, I'll be glad to help you.
I do remember it took about 30sec to setup the first time, but I haven't read the book lately.

i forget, but i think the manual says to hold it for 15 seconds- which is totally wrong. it's more like 30 sec (up to a minute)- ie like what cesar said...
