Anyone lose any pets to the pet food recall?
I just looked up the list, and it's over 5500 items long.
http://www.fda.gov/ora/fed_state/recalls/Recall.xls
I gotta check what we have at home.
I buy Royal Canin for my dog, but my dad bought some cheap stuff recently, and I don't remember what it was.

Strike is over
I did read through all the posts prior to ending my strike, so I've been on for a little bit this morning getting caught up.
Didn't check the site once, but obviously, talked to a couple of you guys by phone.
News, no good news. Warranty company game out, spent a little less than a half hour (from what I'm told), took some pics and wrote a report basically denying the repair claim due to (1) aftermarket parts and (2) driver abuse.
As for (1) aftermarket parts...parts that voided the extended warranty plan included: intake, exhaust, hi flow cat, flywheel, clutch/pressure plate, and "non" stock sized rims/tires.
As for (2) driver abuse...there was some discoloration on the surface of the flywheel and pressure plate, which was assumed to be driver abuse.
I asked for copies of the inspection report, as well as pictures, but was told that the only way these would be released would be to have an attorney write a letter to their legal department asking for copies. I asked the service manager at Mazda to try and get copies, but they basically told him the same thing. They wouldn't release anything.
I have access to a couple of attorneys but what is really in it for me....this is a winless battle. I was never provided a copy of the extended warranty policy at the time of the car purchase...it was simply a check box on the long document you sign at the time of purchase. But, I would never be able to prove this, and this wouldn't help me out...(but it does **** me off). After reading the explanation of coverages, and those that are not covered, the items listed in (1) aftermarket parts all void the warranty, and I had all of them...not just one. As for (2) driver abuse....I have no way of proving how I drive the car, but the discoloration seems strange to me since I drive like a grandma on the freeway, and the clutch/pressure plate has only been in the car since January.
As Casey reported earlier in this thread, the parts list for rebuilding the failed parts was close to 2000 dollars. Mostly gear, no synchros on the list. New Transmission through the dealer is 3200, plus installation. New transmission (with no implied warranty) through mazdaspeed is 2200 plus shipping. Used transmissions range between 1000-1800 dollars, but to my knowledge, there is no way to verify the sellers claim of how many miles are on the transmission. Some used transmissions come with a 90-day warranty.
I have other options at this point, which I am pursuing, with respect to the transmission...but will avoid talking about them on the forum. I hope I have address most of the questions you guys may have had...and would like to request that you PM if you have other questions or suggestions.
EDIT: Search Terms (gear grind, ACT clutch, Mazda sucks)

yeah that is said, at Cal Poly we had a guy jump off the building and another shoot himself in a classroom alone (both died) but no shooting spree.
i wonder if the mods will ever come back in to our thread again or if they even look at it? maybe they surf the forum on key strokes, kind of like how conversatiosn are secretly recorded when you say 2 words together one of them being the president?
or well: racing beat, volk, youtube

Most of the mods stay out of the big regional threads since they know we generally don't cause too much trouble.
What's happened at V tech is such a tragedy, I never did understand the point of going on shooting sprees, most of those Victims had nothing to do with what's upsetting that individual.
(Edit: mpg, HKS, 5w20, Mazda recall, Midgets)

BLACKSBURG, Va. - A gunman opened fire in a dormitory and a classroom at a college in Virginia on Monday, killing at least 30 people in the deadliest campus shooting in U.S. history. The gunman also was killed, and at least 22 other people were injured.
dude got it all wrong, he was supposed to kill himself before trying to kill everyone else.

Loren, most truck rental places have dollys for rent. I also have one. Also, make sure you ask Cesar for his arm forklift straps....they were most helpful with his move....those things are amazing. The "Edit"...search term thing was just something I suggested prior to my strike. a chance to have some fun and keep people reading your posts. A chance for some humor to shine through.
EDIT: Search terms (arm forklifts, back pain, Motrin, pizza, cold beer)

moving days work well with lots of help, and a lot of adequate prep by the people wanting to move. Having things ready to go....all boxed up, with some plan of how to pack the van makes for a shorter moving experience. How many people do you have confirmed to help you Loren? I may be willing to come and help the unload process since parking would be easier at your house, and the unload is always easier than the load.
I believe we would be done at the autocross around lunch.
Search Terms (Newbs, FTW, LOL, IMHO)

I saw that you updated your location, so it inspired me to change mine.
Since your coming from Rancho, I know it will be hard for you to admit you live in Fontana, so for a while you'll be calling it "North" Fontana.
Don't worry, my wife still does it after 4 years.
When we're in Vegas and we mention that we're from So Cal it goes something like this.
Person 1: Hey, where do you live in So Cal?
My Wife: Near Rancho Cucamonga.
(fontucky, red-necks, incest, sister-lovin)
