I'm here, just swamped at work. (the result of being gone 2 days this week)

You guys better take LOTS of pics tomorrow, been a while since we've filled up a page with Meet Pics.
Detrich: you BETTER go tomorrow, no excuses. You'll have fun.

Haha, you really need to start spell checking and re-reading stuff before you hit post.
That post says, "I absoutly the atmosphere" and there's several other mis-spellings. You don't want people to think your from Fontucky do you?

yeah miachel what was the last straw? the MS3 will not save you much in gas anyway.

IF you are looking at a new car do you remeber what keith was saying about trading in and barely coming out even? then again arent you paid off?

Cesar: Need some computer advise.
I'm thinking of redoing my currest desktop but I'm torn on what to do with the processor.

I've always been an AMD guy but I haven't really kept up with technology so I don't know where they stand on the famous 'AMD vs Intel' war.
I'm currently running an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ but I'm thinking it's time for some newer technology. (dual, triple, quad core, etc)

I don't play first person shooters so I don't need the Super Gamer computer from Hell, just stepping it up a little from what I have now.

AMD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103249
Intel - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115053 (I think this is comparible to the AMD)

sporty and won't drain my pockets
then i'm open to comments.
still thinking about the g35 sedan.

AMD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103249
Intel - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115053 (I think this is comparable to the AMD)
I almost bought that same AMD processor the other day. They have a combo pack w/ a motherboard for free.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138106

The battle still rages between Intel and AMD. Intel seems to score higher #'s, but does it really matter at that speed? Especially if you're not even going to be hardcore gaming.
What can you possibly do to max out a Quad-core processor right now?
Keep in mind, you'll be buying a processor, powersupply, video card and memory. If you go w/ the combo, you're looking at around $700 for the rest if you don't need a case or drives.
The nice thing about the AMD Phenom 9850 is, w/ a good motherboard and watercooled heatsink, you can over-clock it at 3.0Ghz.
But think of it like putting a Twin-Turbo 4-rotor into your car. Sure, it's possible, but it will be expensive to get everything else up to par so the car can handle the new power.

The other option, is to buy a ready built Core2 Duo. Like an HP or something from Circuit City. With all the new processors coming out, Core2 Duo is old news, and there are some pretty awesome deals.
Or, a built Quad-core. $700 http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/produ....do?oid=207306

Case and Drives are transferring over from current setup.

Yeah, I'm looking to upgrade board, cpu, ram, and Video card.
Audio card probably won't be put in since most boards have a pretty decent one built in.

Yeah, you're right the difference doesn't really matter at that speed.
