the more things change
good to see a winning blue keep up my tradition of being the
only blue in the bunch.
jedi that mod has been on going for a few years now.
it was little tike at first, now its a full grown melt down.
did you smell anything from all that.

Michael: yeah, it started a while back with a tiny little burn mark but now it's gone full blown melt down. It's okay, I actually have a spare set of exhaust shrouds in the garage. (don't ask why)
Smell anything?
With all the catless RX-7's and The Rev driving in front of me, all I smelt were exhaust fumes
Atilla: Glad to hear you had fun today. Knowing what a canyon run nut you are, I'm shocked it took you this long to join us in SB...

jedi: yeah man, iono, i guess i've always been hesitant about hitting a canyon at full pace w/other drivers - ever since my accident a while ago involving me n' some inexperienced ******* i've always been hesitant.
this run really restored my confidence. Can't wait for the next time out

The rest of the pics:
First, thanks a ton to NGO for the ride, awesome car.
Also, considering how much I was bracing myself with my legs on alot of these shots, if it wasn't for how high speed the camera was or that I could just hold down the shutter button and it keep snapping so I can pic out the best ones in a series, I wouldnt have anything worth mentioning.
For this pic I was attempting to get a shot of some of the road down below that we had been on, and the camera focused on the guardrail for the shots. It caught this one though, and we were about 70mph, with the guard rail about 4 feet from the camera, zoom at maybe 200-230mm (70-300 is my lens range). And it picked up the detail of the bolt, rust, dirt, without hardly any blurring. I didn't realize how fast the camera was.
And on to the pictures, with peanut gallery comments:
[b]Getting ready to roll out...
Headed to the canyons...
Hitting highway 18(?)
Our back trail...
Mountain backdrop...
Farther than he looks.....annnd closer than he looks.
An attempt at a post card shot at ~60-70mph in a turbo 8 (best one of the ~12 I shot in rapid fire)
Excuse the shots of Jedi. I guess my date with him went better than I thought. He ended up in most of my shots from being the next car ahead. Ah well, subconscious suggestion maybe.
Cropped this one down to get rid of another car, but appropriate.
One of the few times most of the line ahead was in view.
Kept trying to get side shots in motion, which usually meant the hardest curves and the hardest time holding the camera so the target car was in view for the shot, but got a few.
I like this one, seems to be really spread out for them to be caught on what looks like a different road entirely, but alot of open view switch backs here, created some interesting photo opportunities
This one I swung back firing shots to try to catch Atilla, who was behind us most of the time, on the upper section of the tight switchback, and did! Right through the driver side rear little window.
Camber curves FTW.
Rest after the canyon runs, but some good shots.
Entering the highway, down across the entrance ramp loop.

Proof that Atilla is slow apparently. Stopped on the freeway. (or maybe my camera is just fast enough to make the wheels clear....naaaa)
And a random Phantom Blue 8 that followed us in for food, waved, and then didn't come over and say high. A chick apparently.
And the obligatory fail spotted. Yes, that wing is installed backwards, then tilted forward to the point it isn't generating lift. The trunk is wrinkled, the rear window tint covers the bottom 70% of the window, has wheel gap to challenge a lift kit, plus some other stuff people spotted. Wasn't going to waste much on it.

Whoa great pics you two - thanks! I didn't realize any of the 8's were turbo'd! Which one was?
I cannot believe I didn't get busted by that cop. Someone mentioned there were two close calls but I only saw 1 cop during the whole run. I was in front, coming out of a corner in third gear at WOT and my radar detector went off all of a sudden so I spilled about 10mph before flying by the cop. I thought for sure at least someone was going to get pulled over, probably me. I kept checking my rear view mirror and he didn't even twitch; we sure got lucky.

great pics RIWWP, I might have to trouble you for some of those as I rarely get pictures of my own car, let alone action shots like that.

Great looking shots guys wish i could have been there. I was running mahallond drive on my bicycle (102 miles 6000ft, 6 hr 40 mins) on Saturday went past our overlook vista and then came down a crazy road that i have never been on before, the cars would have a hard time going up it.
Today i went to fawnskin to plant some trees in burn areas (community service). drove up waterman to rim of the world and then over to bear eventually. I came back the same way and must have cought one of your cops because he turned around to give me a ticket for window tinting (i didnt even have current proof of innsurace and my tags are expired (April) and no front plate, but tinting)?! What was your run in like?
OK this i have to share with the Star wars fans, i was cracking up, I got to convince mirna to let me puts this on her tomtom.
