the R3 model is strictly for performance & exterior looks only. so, if you want a happy blend of comfort, options, and performance then that's what the GT model is for. (personally, i have to have the moonroof & leather seats of the GT model. but, that's just me.) the richardo seats on the R3 are not in any way or form cheap- they are simply designed to be light & snug for tracking.

as far as the manual vs. auto debate goes, u really need to get the RX-8 in manual to get the full spectrum of enjoyment of what both the rotary engine and the car itself has to offer. that doesn't mean the 8 in auto form is not worthy or a complete put-down. it just means u'll be making serious compromises and concessions if u go with the auto...

my new gig is at an equity mgmt company on lake avenue in pasadena- just down the street from Sir Jorge's Indy Mac i'll be doing more or less the same type of work- just in a smaller but more stressful environment- since it's a financial institution. XP i'll give u guys an update once i get adjusted/ settled...

saw my first GT-R on this morning. At all places.... OC LAMBORGHINI!!
Looks like they'd just unloaded it off the truck because it was parked behind the truck as they were pulling out a new Murcielago

and YES, OC Lambo sells more then just Lambos. I remember seeing a few Lotus' there last year

My loan was picke up by Countrywide.
Anyone have any experience with them?

Looks like I will be sending them a check every month for the next 30 years.

BTW - There are 2 GT-r's in Temecula, one in Murrieta, and one in Lake Elsinore. I have seen them all over. I dont think they look as good in person as they do in the pictures. They kinda look a little plain. The front looks awesome, but the rest is kinda boring. Just my $0.01 ( that comment wasn't even worth 2 cents)

My loan has been transferred between several different lending agenies since we started our loan....but it doesn't really matter to me as it is automatically pulled from my checking and I never actually write out a check. As long as you pay the bill on time, you probably will never hear from them....at least I never do (until they send me a letter stating that the loan is being assumed by another lender)....

Suggestion...look into their bimonthly bill pay option. You get one extra payment per year without any additional money out of pocket and it can greatly reduce the life of the loan. I beleive it was 150 bucks to sign up, and they charge you a 1.50 each transaction....so another 3 bucks per month (36 bucks per year...) for them to "manage" the payments....(which I don't really agree with because it is automatically pulled and there is no person actually managing anything).

rgl: you'll get a BofA statement very soon.
Both of them are great lenders when it comes to Loan Servicing.

I agree with Keith: my loan has been trasferred 3 times and is currently with Citi which is nice because if i ever need anything, I can swing by a branch.
bi-monthly payments FTW!!!

I may do the bimonthly bit, or just kick in extra $$ on each payment.
However it turns out, I am just stoked to livin in my own house and keeping my own money.
Taxes used to rape me as a single male . . . . . now it is my turn to win at the tax game.

BTW - thank you Bushy for the extra $4000 this year

don't forget about property taxes....which are due in October and April (I think). And hopefully you don't get hit with a large supplemental tax assessment (that one will be based on whatever the tax base was from the person who previously bought the home and what they paid for it).....

Our supplemental tax bill was something like 1600 bucks...and then property taxes are about 4000 a year, split into a couple payments...first being in October.

Supplemental tax assessment?
The last guy paid 2.5 times for this place than I did.

Which way does it work? If I paid more than the last guy, I would pay the supplemental . . . right?
What if I paid less than the last guy?

what happens in that situation is that you most likely will not get a supplemental and you will continue to pay the taxes from the previous person...which will be too much. (Given that they were paying taxes on a house valued at 400k....and you bought the same property valued at 250k...these are examples. You would continue to receive tax bills based on the 400k value I beleive and may need to file paperwork with the county to have the tax re-evaluated/assessed).

Speeddemon filed some paperwork with the county he lives in to have his property taxes reduced because he is paying too much...given that the property he has is no longer the same value as when he moved in. The paperwork asks for examples of homes that are selling in the area, and they reassess your taxes for the new value of the home. edit: I think Loren and Cesar are in the same situation as Casey, given the timiing of when they purchased their homes. Not sure though.

These are just my guesses.

In my situation...buying a new home...the existing property taxes were for land valued at 60k......when we bought the property (now with a house on it) for 238k...we had to pay the difference between those two numbers in a 1 time, lump sum payment with like a months notice.......the normal tax bill is based on the 238 number (even though our home is probably worth more).

Funny, my cousin is doing that as a side job right now.
He just pulls comps for people for $50, and they file it with the city?county?state? And it lowers their tax bill.

I am pretty sure I am paying taxes on my purchase price. A purchase causes a re-assessment. I am at 1.3% tax rate? Which I just found out includes my trash bill. You are not allowed to own property in Lake Elsinore without trash service. So it is included in the property taxes.

Cesar works more with this side of thing though, he may be a better person to ask this type of info from.....or maybe that geek guy who used to be in this thread whom we haven't seen or heard from in quite sometime.

Crazy how different cities work...our sewage bill is included in our tax bill...trash is seperate and paid once every 3 weeks.

Yeah, I really only bought one because Jay Leno had one....I figured he knows a lot about cars. I don't drive it much since the Gt-r was delivered.

How many tickets do you need....just one for you and your girlfriend like for the superbowl, right?

^^^ HE SHOULD not have to.... the county should go off of the last sale.... at least that has always been my understanding.

so if he got the house for $250K he is paying taxes on $250k.... not the last owners price.
