You might as well get a midpipe too if you are going to do all that. You'll get maybe like 15 or so hp?

You'll want to get an AccessPort and tune it to get maximum benefits from all that stuff.

That said you aren't likely to be pushing more than ~220 to the wheels even if your engine is running well.

So he'll be pushing like 180HP to the wheel at the most.

Given the now reduced price of the Cobb AP, that should be your first acquisition.

^ You can definitely feel (and measure) the improvement with a Cobb AP and a MazdaManiac custom tune. But you're correct that an aftermarket intake/exhaust won't do much. Going Cat-less ('midpipe') will of course offer significant gains, but that's for track only. Alternatively a high flow Cat such as the RP Supercat, which is emissions street legal, but not as much gain.

That's becuse you're comparing the engine's rated horsepower against its "at the wheels" HP (WHP), which will always be lower given the innate resistance of the other drivetrain components.

Every couple of NA HP gain adds up, but is dwarfed by FI, as we all know.

the engine looses power along the way turning the shaft, axels and other stuffs before it finally turns the wheels... hence crank hp and wheel hp... simple physics.
