RX-8 Needed for product prototyping

In our effort to offer more performance parts to the ever growing automobile community, we have decided to offer more than "just an intake" for the RX-8. In our current scope, we have plans for the following:

Cold Air Box
Engine Torque Damper
Ignition Coil Equalizer

Other products, such as headers, are still up in the air. Not quite sure if these will make any power difference. Suggestions for product development are always welcome.

We are currently looking for a local participant to help us in product development. We would need access to the car for atleast a day. The participant will receive free products in exchange for his/her help. We understand there will always be skeptics and questions, so we are always open to answer questions. If you're local, you're welcome to come down and check out the shop and talk to us.

I actually found a RX-8 to prototype for now, got working on an air box/shield, and a oil catch can. The engine damper looks to be a PITA, so it might not be feesible. We're considering the ignition equalizer and a race header. I may need another car in the future for the header, if my current guy can't work it in his schedule.

I retract my post, you guys seem to not like my happiness or my typos or mistaken numbers I felt were at the moment correct.

Lets leave it at, I like the intake and lets move on.

Hey - you do understand the the rx-8 comes with a cold air intake from the factory, right? But more than that, the factory intake has a VFAD, which opens up letting in more air around 7000 rpm. I recently removed the VFAD and so it had cold air at full blast all the time, I'm pretty sure the car has lost lower end power because of it. The factory intake has a lot of time and development put into it, and like most other mods for the RX-8, it's damn hard to beat the factory setup simply because mazda didn't just toss this car together. Every part has a purpose.

When I am going that fast I usally see it at around 5 - 5.5K and I am always thinking to myself if Mazda did that on purpose to keep everyone driving the speed limit. I used to drive constantly at only 60mph because conincidently at that speed the RPM levels at about 4K RPM which I believe is when the engine starts to open add more fuel and kicks int some kind of engine management to waste more of my gas (Someone correct me if I am wrong I read that somwhere).
I hate to say it, but there is no way for that to happen. Your air intake isn't going to change your gear ratios.

Mr. Hamilton is right. 3750 rpm is ~74 mph in 6th gear. If you were driving 80 at 5 - 5.5K, you were in 5th. Intake is in no way connected to the tranny, so gear ratios can't change.

NOT TRUE. The RX-8 can be effected by the intake

"Before you Order: We have found that a minority of RX-8's do not like a higher flow intake. Even though all RX-8's are supposed to be the same from the factory but unfortunately, they are not. This has to do with the version of the ECU program and also the batch of the MAF sensor. To ensure that our intake system will work on your RX-8, please do a simple test by removing the stock air filter from the stock air box and run your car from 1st to 3rd gear in full throttle and see if there is any kind of hesitation. Without the stock air filter in place, the stock intake system simulates a higher flow intake. If there is hesitation, any aftermarket high flow intake system will not work on your car, including ours. If there is not any hesitation and the car accelerates smoothly, you will see the promised HP gain from our intake system. "

cooldriver88, that's nice and all, but that doesn't change anything said above. The intake isn't going to change your gear ratios.
