I guess you are... you see, i took the car to the dealership 2 times for the same issue (rust at this area of the car). the claimed it cleaned right off. but if you look at it with you eyes, the "red rusty stuff" is very noticable.

okay, going to the dealership tomorrow morning... gonna remind them of the rust, and the half assed job (leaving tools in car with screws not fastened) and get an oil change all in hopes of going to the meet this weekend (Once a Month Meet Near San Bernardino)

okay, so whatever - took the 8 down there today and they said "It's just dirt or something mixed with water... It wipes right off"

so meh.

Exclamation Mazda 6 had a similar problem...

The early model year '04 Mazda 6 had rust problems in the trunk gutters as well...poor surface prep, rust proofing and thin paint were contributing factors... Mazda has a fix for the problem with the affected 6's.
