and dont forget brakes.
using hawk blues or DTCs make a huge difference. braking harder deeper into the turn makes another big difference.. stock rotors are really good, i dont see as much need for a big brake setup.. unless youre running slicks?
later end of summer i may go to 18x9.5 and go r comp or slicks.. and then later after that.. suspension.
but first im still focusing on learning to drive. a friend and i are splitting some private instruction in may. also been considering a skip barber weekend, but $4k is so ****** steep...

Atom just has anti sway bars and rays rims with dunlop star-spec, he ran a 2.12 according to the final times, thats alot faster then some modded cars. Suspension and tires is where you'll pick up the most time.
I've ran against a few stock 8's in the straight and beat them, but you see Atom's time was 2 sec faster with more track time and better tires.
SUSPENSION and TIRES first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4k, not even worth it. I think just practice will get you there. You have to feel it, right?
I think my brakes were good enough for me, with the smaller rims and tires I had plenty of stopping power. But yeah Tein H springs with some anti-sway bars and good tires, brakes. Thats are the RX-8 really needs to be pretty competitive.
For the turbo, just get a high flow for the track. They just want to see a cat. Save your factory cat for smog.
Atom, I call dibs on your rims if you ditch them....lol

Anyone signed up for NASA @ Buttonwillow on 4.25 & 4.26? Would be nice to have a few other 8s there to run with. I'm running in HPDE 3. I'm targeting 2.10 or under.
Tom-I'd save the 4K at this stage unless you're thinking the advanced course. Just run group 3 with Mike Peters-way less expensive. He is an awesome group leader/instructor.
