I havent looked in quite a while but from what i remember when i bought mine a year ago. the 8 was slightly more then the Z, not enough to make a difference, your z priceing seems about right, excluding top of the line models.

It will be cheaper then a comparable 350z.

Why are you switching over? This past monday i drove all 3 cars on a track extensively, if you have any quesions on how they compare i'd be happy to answer them.

i actually love the s2k alot, but its has became impractical, and i swear my s2k has the worst luck ever, ive gone through so many tires b/c if nails and POS reasons its driving me krazy, this is the worst lucky i've had with a car, call me superstitious. i also liek the 350z but ive driven it and it feels like a boat, doesnt save gas at all, everywhere on the road. how wouldu comapre teh rx8 to the 350z?? i like the looks of rx8 (sorta like a 4 seater s2k) plus it looks alot mroe nuble etc etc.

if the z doesnt save gas to you then dont get an 8, I am getting 15-18 mpg (thats stock) maybe 20 if i drove strickly on the freeway, maybe if i am lucky. thea handling of the 8 is better but the tourge is better in the z

I drove the non-track model of the 350z and really liked it. The engine is absolutely incredible (drove a 06 with intake, probably 305 hp or so). But i did find it not as nimble as the rx8 or s2000 and the brakes also were not up to par. I enjoyed it very much though, but the rx8 with two more doors and two more seats is way more practical and handles/brakes better.

rx8 is around same price as 350z, handles better, has more seats, bigger trunk. the z does have more horses and a little better gas mileage going for it though.

Z is a few thousand dollars more expensive, especially if you start going into the higher end packages with the vert top.

A GT RX-8 with navi can be bought for easily 30k or less.

before i bought my 8 i shopped around for about 6 months in san diego and fresno i drove the z it was a 04 touring and i was very impressed i had never liked them before until i drove it but the turning was not as good.

the brakes i was very impressed with i had been used to driving my exp and the brakes would jerk me forward like no tomorrow from using what i thought barely any pressure. i drove bmw, mercedes and a few other pricier cars as well as hondas, nissans and all the others i just fell in love with the 8 the looks the feeling everything about it i love.

im in the military and drive 350 miles 1 way to my fiances house every weekend my SUV wasnt pracitical but i wanted something fun to drive. after i decided i had to have an 8 i had to find 1 that i didnt mind paying for along with as much gas and i use and insurance.

1 day at work i went to www.autotrader.com and i found an 8 about 100 miles north of me with every single option i wanted the main 3 things i wanted was silver, black leather and manual this 1 had all of that.

i drove up to see the car and was surprised to see it had navigation and heated seats i was estatic i drove it for about an hour and decided i had to have this car an 04 with 40k highway miles for 18k i was in love.

to this day everytime i get out of my car i still look back and smile a few times before i get inside and i still find little extras i didnt know about like friday i was sitting in my car waiting for someone and discovered i could slide the cup holder cover all the way back and lift it to find a compartment with a power outlet in it.
