I dun really want to lower the car that much.. plus I don't really mind the
stiffness coz I go to track once every few months.
what suspension do you have?

you know CosmoMpower??
he's running the same setup, Koni and MS springs.. In fact,
Phil from DPE is also about to do the same thing..
Out of curiosity, what makes you say the MS springs
don't match the koni's??

Springs and shocks are need to "Match". The Konis are only rebound adjustable and are set up for a "near stock" spring rate. If you really want MS springs, why not get the matching MS shocks?

I will ask you pay for the stall rental which is about $3 an hour and buy me lunch. It ook me about 3 hours to do my last RX-8 but it might take me less now that I know the trick to do the rear.

The KONI’s are designed to be used in conjunction with the OE springs, when set to the softest rebound setting. Due to the KONI’s adjustability however they can also be used with a lowering spring or a higher rated spring. You can use them with either. When going with a lowering/higher rate spring then you will want to adjust the KONI’s up about ¾ of a turn to start and then go stiffer from there to get the ride that you are looking for. The KONI’s will have between 2 and 2 ½ turns of adjustment.

Here's the email I got from Koni's technical staff. I asked them about matching
the Koni with a higher rated spring and here's their answer..
What do you think DosDog?
How much did you turn the Koni?

I also have RB sways so the stiffer sways in combination with the springs may have been the cause. The combination I have is closer to neutral than stock but to go loose is just plain dangerous. Are you staying with the stock sway bars?

you be better off with the Koni, don't sweat it. The OEM springs are not designed to be use with lowering springs. I did it and one of the OEM springs went out 2k miles later(car had 3800 miles on it).
For me the MS springs were brutally stiff. I ran 3/4 turn rear and played with the front from soft to full on. I have the RB sways so it was very stiff. As Stoney confirmed the Konis are only rebound adjustable. They do not have the dampening that the MS shocks would on compression. Just my $.02 and if you aren't running RB sways you probably won't experience the issue I did. Good luck.
