Negative Ghost Rider. All that proves is that you were driving the vehicle at one point, not that you are in the vehicle.

LOGICALLY if you are going to use this argument you first need to specify or prove whether or not the two events are mutually exclusive.

(yeah - I'm a nerd)

I am assuming you are using catagorical syllogism? In that case, the first premise (the MAJOR premise) must be an absolute (in order for it to be fact) which it is not. Unless you drive with your windows down on rainy days and when your fiance complains about being cold

Unofortunately your argument is flawed as this statement is in fact NOT an absolute.
I bring your attention to the AutoCross event that I attended with you folks last summer. On the way back to your place there was a drizzle coming down and your windows were in fact CLOSED.

That concludes our lesson for today.

Thanks, it's already been a long week and I really needed that. From Erica's story to Keith's reaction to the great debate of in the car or in the outhouse...I love this thread. And thank you for all the hard work you guys are doing with the photos of my car. And thank you to Loren for putting my strake on and Keith and Erica for letting me hang out after the cruise. I had a good time Saturday so thanks to all of you that made it a good day for me.

They've broken a few sets of wheel locks from past cars and even scratched up a rim pretty bad on my last car. (someone went psycho with the air gun)

You really should look at getting it corner balanced. (I think that's the term).
It's more precise, and can make a big difference in handling.

Maybe Ghost will chime in. He knows more about this than I do.
Or, check out the Autocross section and post in there.

yeah, they are but the bad thing about going to Costco (which I've done for SO many other cars in the past) is that if your alignment is off, their techs are instructed not to tell the custoemer since it is not a service offered by them.
They'll just have you eath through your tires unevenly.

i c... that's good to know for future reference. my alignment was off after my fender bender in 2004, but i'm not sure if the body shop does their own alignment or if they send it somewhere else. in any event, i guess goodyear tires isn't a good place to go- since they dropped that guy's elise...

correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the only way you can get your car corner balanced is to have a set of adjustable coilovers....by adjusting the height at each corner, you can place the same amount of weight on each tire....Cant do this with stock springs and struts.

heck if I know Keith, never heard of corner balancing. That sounds about right though, as I don't see how they'd adjust that on stock suspension.

I recall denward saying that he had his car weighed...and that the stock setup was pretty well balanced. Make sense since our car is 50/50 weight balanced already (front to back)....I recalled Denward saying something like 50.5/49.5 left to right....with left side being a little lower given the distribution of some of the driveline components and driver....

yup, you need to be able to adjust height in order to have a car corner balanced. i although i believe tyre pressure can affect it a little as well.

the stock rx8 is 51/49 (most cars that say they have 50/50 are almost all just a little off. the s2000 is 48/52 i believe).

i weighed my car after the springs were installed. never had a chance to see what the stock weighed in at.

after the install, my car was weighed in at 49.something/50.something with driver. my springs are lower in the rear by much more then in the front. over an inch lower then what what koni/vogtland (identical springs) advertiesed. on my car with me in it, there was one side that was heavier, i dont remember if it was the passenger side or the driver side. it was only by about 25 lbs or so.

51/49 - 53/47 is ideal for the 8 IMO because under acceleration or part throttle, you get bretty close to 50/50 due to weight transition. but that depends on your style.

i had my car aligned at jim sleepers. hes extremely hard to get a hold of, is usually booked up for a few months out, he blows off his appointments like no tomarrow, and he is expensive. i hear a lot of race teams go to him though.... i wouldnt recomend going to him unless your racing in some series or something. he also uses ANCIENT equipment.... he showed up to his work 2 hours late for my appointment after blowing me off the month before, and took 4 and a half hours to setup my car because he was talking to some dude on the phone. i think he helps eibach develope suspension parts.

if your local, id recomend a place called WEst End. they only charge abour $150 for alignment and corner balance.
