I think Razz1 is "on the in" with Racing Beat. I'm hoping his new mod is the Cold Air add on to the Racing Beat intake. I'm hoping this makes some significant changes to the intake on our engine.....so, Razz...am I close on your new mod?

 

yah, I won't be around on the 23rd...and my tires are waaaaaay toooo bald to do any autocrossing...it would be more like auto-sliding all over the place. I had my 30,000 mile tune up on Wednesday and they told me that my rears were all the way down to the tread wear indicators. Those were swapped on to the fronts so I have only about 3-5,000 miles left before I'll need to replace tires. This may be when I go ahead and switch to 19's. I'm leaning towards to Racing Hart J8's or Volk Gt-7's. The Volk CE28n's in Black are just too stealthy for me. I guess I want more bling, and something that will coordinate with the grey portion of the MS kit.

On another mod note. I installed the PIE converter so that I can run an Ipod directlty into my radio. The radio was a pain to remove, my arms are thrashed with little cuts everwhere. But the parts were direct plug-in to the 16-pin connector in the rear of the radio. From the threads that I have read off of the RX8 forum, Mazda left this pin open so that they could develop a DVD/theatre type system that would run through the factory flip up screen.

The PIE parts were initially developed to work with Alpine CD Changers, but there are several other applications. I got the plug that has a 3.5 auxilary plug (which is basically the same plug as a headphone jack)...but there are other options such as RCA's, optical audio and such.

I don't have any music loaded into my Ipod yet, so I'm not certain whether my instalation works yet...but I am able to access the "EX" screen by pressing the "CD" button twice...so I anticipate that it works. I'll have to see.

 

I would check with Speeddemon..his tint job was nice..he got some cool/custom extras and the price was great. The place I used was in Buena Park near Knott's Berry Farm. Called "Mikes Tint Shop".

That rotory logo Speeddemon has is so cool though. Maybe you could put one in the side pop-out windows????

 

i thought about doing that to , but i figures with the rear window it might have ben to much.

HEY EVERYONE, i should be picking up my new engine verry soon. on saturday the engine builder said it would be done monday, or tuesday.... WELL TODAY IT TUESDAY, ill give him a call soon and see if it's done. CAN'T WAIT! looking forward to hearing BRAP, BRAP, BRAP. i hope its so fast it scares the $hit out of me. he he he, ok maybe it wont be that fast, but it sure will be faster then the last time i drove it. (MeShell, Vipers, you know what i am talking about.)

I dropped my 8 down at romero motors for an oil change, tire rotation and a check engine light that was on.

i just called them and they told me that they needed to upgrade the flash to P-flash... and that solved the problem.

now they're checking out my weak start, and weak AC.

gonna leave it there till tomorrow (thursday)

 

I was just down getting my 30,000 mile tune up and they reflashed. Don't know which though. As with everything, it seems to run better now. but I know it is just the Placebo effect.

 

i have yet to take my car in for anything. i try not to. dont want them to see the intake, and springs. ill wait untill i really need to take it in for something, and then ill change everything back and do it all at once.

OR i will just say screw it, so what if they find out about the springs and intake. (i odnt mind changing the intake, but i am not about to take the springs out)

my car also has a weak start. it has since i bought it. and the other day my car wouldent start. had the doors open and radio playing for like an hour and it was dead. an hour should not kill a battery. at least it never has in any other car i have had.

anways, ill shut up now. :D

On another note. I got excited about the rim issue again. I was told that I might be able to special order the Racing Hart J8 in a custom color. But was then let down quickly when they said that the minimum order must be 250 (sets) of rims or I could have a "one-off" wheel made for an additional $500-1000 (per wheel) depending on the color selected. Nope, no thanks...next.

Lesper...did you and Rx8squared come together last time, or did you just both end up being lost together, in the same parking lot? I'm gonna shoot a Pm to RX8squared to let him know where I think we are going this week.

 

If he was in the shinka, yeah but I know how to get there this time. I talked to a future 8 member but she will be on vacation this weekend. She used to race Mazdas for 6 years and now she is doing open wheel racing. I will let you have the details at the meet, and yeah Krazie I finally stopped by to say hi, she was getting home just as I passed. Beat you to it :p
