CA MY RX OCHO . . . THE Future

Hey guys Im borrowing my sis' laptop so i finally got to take some pics of my RX8 and post them on here.

So here are my plans:
Single exhaust, cold air intake, rims with some fatty tires, and dunked low on a clean suspension.. That's about it.

Im getting my 1988 MRS SC to be my canyon runner! the Rx8 is gon be my cruiser, ill track it though :D

PROS":
Love the Car, handles well, picks up great, looks good, comfy, smooth, and fun!

CONS:
Attracts the wrong kind of girls, mpgs sucks, maintanace is gon be a B!!!

Im only at 16,000 miles and I think im due fr a tune up and tires\. However had this last drove it hard i guess.

When Im idling and I rev it to 9RPM, as the RPMS drop, the car Misfires... CRAZY!

ALso, it has happened to me twice in the last week that I tried to turn it on and it took longer than usual to crank.

Im gon' need an oil change soon, so I will do the tune up as well.

The suspension feels every bump in the road, I can hear the left front shock squeek, maybe i need a new one, or it could be the bushings...

My rear view mirror doesn't work (MOST LIKELY I just dont know how to use it, i have no idea what the buttons are for)

So here are some basic pics, i been hitting the canyons every night..

DCKR in Mal. Lil Tj in the Valley, Mull by my pad, MT W in the Angeles.. So much fun!

Ill get some better pictures soon..

he's not gettting misfires. he's just hearing the exhaust. think about it. dry rev to 9k then fully let off the throttle? pop pop.

the buttons on the mirror are for you homelink system. you can open your garage with them.

mazda says it may take up to 10 secs for your rx8 to crank.

but if it's noticeably longer and is also accompanied by a popping coming from the front on the drivers side, you should check to make sure your wires and plugs are all on and in tight. if there's no popping, your coils might be going bad, but i'd say it's unlikely at 16000 miles.

You may be right, I was at work, and the car was warming up, the clear barely visible smoke was coming out of it, since it had been off for quite a few hours.

Once it was warmed up, my boss asked me to rev. it, so I did. I revved it up to 9,000 RPMS, and as the revs came back down I'd hear.. "pruup, prupp" my boss said it was a misfire, but maybe you coudl be right, it's like more of a POP..

So that's the onyl use for those buttons, homelink.. i need to find how to set it up since I dont have a manual

It's only happened to me twice, that I had to crank it for more than 3 seconds, less than 10 though. My friend who drives an S2000 said that wasn't normal. He said either my wires, or spark plugs or both are going bad.

Im going to have to find out how to replace all these things, so I can at least check them... :D

Thanks a lot guys, hope you enjoy the pics! :D

No I am not, so you guys are possibly right, could be the pop from the rev, and not a misfire...

Idk, someone had suggested the spark plugs may be goign bad, or my timing might be off, just wanted 2 make sure If i needed a tune up.

;D Hopefully I can take some more pictures tonight..

I wonder if i have the sport suspension or standard, I am a 6 speed... but not a GT.. or a shinka, at least I doubt i am lol.. I have no spoiler!

yeah, there's nothing wrong with your car.

homelink is easy. 1 of the following procedures will work.

1. hold your garage door opener up to your rearview mirror. press and hold both your garage and your homelink until your homelink blinks.

2. open up the the garage door motor and flip the only switch in there. hurry up and do #1. you have 30 secs.

I been trying to dude, trust me lol, it's hard with ym busy scehcdule and the fact that my computer just crashed doesn't help either, i get a few minutes a day on my phone or at work but obviously its not sufficient time to gather the info i want, since i have to cycle through countless pages, sites, articles and threads :|

So excess fuel huh, ha ha....

THANKS ALOT, however, I doubt it will work for me. I live in an apartment with underground parking and I doubt i can program my homelink to that but if i can cool, so i will go home and try it after work :D

He is about to slap a bigger turbo on that ish,
it's pretty sik, I like how it pulls, we are yet to race though :D

Im looking forward to the canyon more than the straight line though,

He used to have an eclipse gst, as did My homie, which was the FASTEST car int he valley I can vouch for it,

He dunked that car low to the ground, 97 white gst, 5 spd . . .
Bigger turbo ported out, hooked up sik straight catback exhaust with a 4.5 outlet...

That thing killed vetts and m3s so easily, that's hwo i fell in lvoe with speed, lol the moment he woudl hit thegas you would sink into the seat without being able to get up...
