I couldn't stop thinking about your car yesterday, it makes me sick to even think about it. I can't imagine what you're going through, sorry bro.
If you need any help taking parts out, just give me a call. I'll bring some beers and we'll drink to the good times in that car, to all the fun we had working on cars at your house, and to your new car! (whatever that might be)
me too. i'm waiting for my flight to new york in dubai right now and it keeps running through my mind. anything can happen when we least expect it. it was seriously a miracle.

Was it traced down to an electrical problem?

My guess is that the fuel line came off. No way was it caused by electrical.

yea +5 on gas line.. the z's used to have this fuel line issue you'd have to tighten down the fuel lines every year big PITA. of course the noobs didn't know this and thats what a gas engine fire looks like.

FYI: Most dealer mechanics are dipshit's and know as much about a rotary engine as I do.

I got $50 says someone forgot to clamp down a fuel line all the way and it was slowly leaking over the past week or so and maybe hit a spark plug or hit the exhaust manifold (if it got hot enough) and blam. You can give that theory to the incaseshit company and see what happens.

P.S. I will be there on Wednesday hopefully with my roommate and his M.

335i is differentially a possibility.... Right now BMW has .9% financing.

It really depends on what I get for the 8. I should know by mid next week.
