Ja over heated needs a rebuild

 

Chun, I take it from what Dr. AJ (alias Dr. Death )(all puns intended) told me that your tranny is toast??? Well we need to find one. Do you want to see if there is a used one locally in a junk yard or get one shipped in from Mazmart? Will it (your car) travel far enough to get to AJs or my home????

If we can located a used one reasonable enough then I under stand it should take the better part of a day to do the switch.

I am always leary of buying used because you do not know how the car was treated by the previous owner......In this case he did not shift very well.

Chun, I checked with Mazmart and they are out of 6 speed manual trannies at the moment.

If I have time today I will do a Junk yard search.

 

Phil I can get my car towed anywhere I need, Ray already said he can help me with that. You had mentioned that Driveline can maybe rebuild mine for like $800? Any info on that?

I can also check with Green Leaf, at theirs would be warrantied if I wanted.

 

Drive line does not have the parts for the 8 transmissions only the 7 at this time. He is not sure when he would have the parts.

 

OK, looks like Green Leaf it is... they only have high mileage trannies right now though.... ****...

 

^Chun. Rebuild the one you have now? Dont know if you have but I can take it apart and see whats wrong with it. I use to rebuild trannys at my brothers shop in Sacto.

Thank you Phil for lending me the compression tester. AJ's 8 checked out ok. I'm next. I'm so nervus Something tells me I'm going to need a rebuild but we have to wait and see the numbers at the time of the compression. Its not that my 8 is running slow or anything, its other reasons.

Thanks AJ for letting me come over and work on the cars. Glad you dig your new toy . I bring my snorkel over so we can cut mine and do it up like yours. I torque my exhaust bolts down before we do my compression test. I feel hella bad you guys had plans. If I dont talk to you when your girl leaves, tell her me and Annette said we are praying for her safe return and I'll keep an eye on you well shes gone .
Sorry I was so out of it today. My tooth is killing me but thanks for the drugs. They make me feel warm and fuzzy. I dont think my tooth is infected. I only feel hot inside when I take the meds. But I dont have a feaver.
Oh give Armin my number. I want him to install my foot well lights you made me a long *** time ago. I never installed them cuz I could not figuer out the diy.

No worries thanks to Gil and Armin for helping me install my Xmas present it is awesome powah! Compression tests went well, no new engine for now. Gil is next, tomorrow.

I wouldn't let Armin install your foot-well lights since I did all three of ours. I'll do it for you, I thought just took it from me to be nice so I never bothered to ask you to install them for you.

I'll do you one better Gil I'll make you a new set of footwell lamps since those were my first set. What color you want them in?

Hey now that I can finally post wanted to thank those that joined the cruise last week.

I suspect they will be getting quiet bigger and we'll have to stretch our legs further as fellow members after seeing pics of the turnout have stated "they will not miss cruises in the future" we'll see of course. lol

 

Very nice group of people - I enjoyed the drive and look forward to future events.
