If I am unable to find such a self serve garage, other than dealerships does anyone know of a place where I can get my coolant changed and not the standard 50/50 pre-mix?

I'd love to be able to do most of the work myself, and prior to moving out here I did virtually all mechanical work myself. However, now that I am out here and live in a condo complex that's a bit difficult. In the short time I've been out here I've found most places aren't as accommodating to doing things other than they standardly do. I've taken my girl's car into a few places to get work done and had some places that are supposed to be good screw up, so I'm hesitant when I know how to do the work to let someone else monkey it up, but I'm kinda stuck finding a place reliable.

Funny thing is right now all I want to get done on it is a coolant flush and run an 80/20 mix vs. 50/50, and get my a/c coolant redone (that is easier to find a place) but haven't found a single place yet that will do anything other than a 50/50 pre-mix for coolant. The vegas heat isn't helping keep things running smooth. I've seen my temps via AP hit upwards of 230-240F on harder runs around town.

 

Welcome to the club on overheating - use caution my 8 is down now due to overheating. If I were you I'd not let it get above 230.

 

So... we all set for tomorrow? BBQ at our place come between 3pm-4pm... i've only gotten a PM for directions from 1 of yous...

I'll be grilling homemade burgers (not just plain 'ol patties) and hotlinks/brats... maybe some carne asada too.

We went ahead and got stuff for the BBQ... wifey is gonna make homemade hamburgers and made chocolate eclair for dessert. We also have hotlinks, soft drinks and chips. You guys are welcome to show up (hence PM me for directions) between 3pm-4pm...

I tried to get to your house but the gate would not open and your neighbors must have called the cops on me. I did look foolish trying to get in and not knowing your last name or phone number. The cops showed and ask me to move on - they must have thought I was a little crazy.
